Trish was the most marketable diva they had (stacy could of been had she been able to wrestle at all) thats all that mattered. Lita was hurt a lot of the time also.
oh yeah and she was hot.

She was decent. She didn't contribute enough to be sent off the way she did, while others (Jericho, Bischoff and Lita come to mind) are made to look like fools when they leave.
And... she never lost.
And... she always had the title. Even when she was injured she didn't have to drop the strap.

When she was in her prime, she was fighting people like Jazz, Victoria, Lita, etc. Of course she's going to look good. Shortly before her departure, asides from Mickie James (Who, again, looked good along with her), she was fighting no-talents. Of course, of COURSE she's going to look bad. How many people who have fought her looked bad?

I don't really remember anyone saying Trish Stratus was the Dynamite Kid of women's wrestling in the first place, so I don't see how she's overrated at all. Do the people that say "Of course she looked great against talents like Jazz and Victoria!" still say the same thing about the Rock when he worked with Chris Benoit or Steve Austin?
Trish either worked with incredibly talented girls--Victoria, Jazz, Mickie James--or she worked with girls who were nothing more than Playboy covergirls and/or an excuse to wrestle in lingerie--Torrie Wilson, Candace Michelle, Stacy Kiebler, Miss Jackie. These are girls that Victoria or Jazz couldn't pull a good match out of--hell, Ric Flair in his prime couldn't pull good matches out of them. It seems a little harsh (to me anyway) to say Trish's inability to have decent matches with them proves how "overrated" she was.
No woman on the roster worked as hard as Trish did to improve her game. She started in the E as the manager of T&A and later Vince's love toy. One of her first matches was that painful battle with Stephanie--and anyone who insists Steph is hot should be reminded of how she looked here, BTW--at (I think) No Way Out. Her final matches were solid bouts against Victoria, and Mickie James. She wasn't the best, but no one ever tried to say she was. She was EASILY the most improved, though.
Claiming someone who worked as hard as Trish did is "overrated" makes it hard to deny that wrestling fans are brutal, demanding, and sometimes unreasonable.

It seems a little harsh (to me anyway) to say Trish's inability to have decent matches with them proves how "overrated" she was. She is probably the best all-around woman that the WWE has ever had: funny, beautiful, charismatic and competent in the ring. No one has worked harder and improved so much. However, I disagree that no one could have gotten a good match out of these women. Molly was often able to drag Divas to acceptable matches. I would place her above Trish in terms of in-ring talent. Without taking anything away from her perseverance and drive, the fact that she wasn't able to have good matches with "lesser Divas" is an important factor in rating her in-ring ability. Is she the greatest of all time (and I've seen that argument a lot)? No, but I'd say she's in the top five.

I think that Trish was the best total package of looks, ability, and character that had been seen in either WWF/E or WCW in the modern era. Yes, she did botch a good deal of spots, but she did things that hadn't been seen from a woman wrestler in many, many years. My thoughts exactly. Besides, how much did one really expect from women's wrestling in the "E" before Trish made it not suck? Quoted for truth

Trish Stratus was decent.
Jacqueline, Ivory, Gail Kim, Jazz, Lita(1999-2001) Molly Holly, Victoria were all better than Trish.

Trish is overrated as the shining star of the women's division. But she WAS good. And I was really entertained by her in a lot of her matches (Especially three or four years ago).
What bothered me who how much her core moveset relied on the strength (and willingness) of her opponent. It really threw kayfabe out the window since her opponent basically lifted her or just sat there or looked like an idiot while she pulled off most of her moves.

Yes. She was a successful and good Women's wrestler. She was no where near the "Greatest Women's Wrestler Ever" as the WWE and some others want to make me believe.

I notice a ot of people say that she only looked good when her competitior was a decent wrestler. Couldn't the same be said for a Benoit or Regal? You put those two in the ring with a god-awful opponent like the Boogyman or Khali and it would be a terrible match too.
I voted "no", because look at the Womens division since she (and Lita) left. On the other hand, I never felt she could cut a decent promo.

I don't think she's nearly as great in the ring or as attractive as a lot of people think she is. But that's just me.

Trish is probably the only woman that could've (convincingly) done both diva gimmicks and just plain wrestle. You couldn't put Jazz in a match w/ Stacey kiebler and get half the result you could with Trish. For her versitility in that respect,I wouldn't call her overrated by any means.

Trish basically saved women's wrestling in the wwe while she was there. Sure she had good matches with equally good people. But I somehow doubt if you put Jazz in with Miss Jackie or Stephanie Mc Mahonyou'd get anything but crap.
Trish was hot, had charisma and could wrestle ... she was great. So many entertaining storylines involved her to some degree (See the Lita feud, Christian/Jericho love triangle, Mickie James impersonation, hell she even made Test and Albert watchable)

Extremely. She was good, not great by any stretch. Lita pre neck injury was better by about a bazillion.

Jazz vs either two would be absolutely terrible.Victoria, even Molly vs those two would be a strech, but imagine Jazz selling any SMH offense? it's a slap-in-the-face to even the markest mark's intelligence.
