Charlie had a brother Russ in OVW that died?! WTF that's why the tape on his Wrists always say Russ on them.. they were a tag team for a while before being called up, so it was kind of out of the blue to hear about it before Charlie even showed up. I didn't really forget about it, but it's hard to remmeber about it since Charlie's been associated closely with Benjamin and Angle the most out of his career.

yeah it's why it's on his wristbands. I think it was either some sudden heart thing or a car accident, not sure off hand. Apparently they were one of the best tag teams to come along in a long long time.

Charlie had a brother Russ in OVW that died?! WTF Yes, Charlie and Russ were originally signed to a developemental deal as a tag team. Russ was damn good, I saw them work live more than once. Russ had a heart condition, wound up having a heart attack, but the two were scheduled to debut together once Russ got himself back ready to go. Sadly, he passed away just days before they were set to debut. For a time here in HWA, Charlie wrestled (and won the HWA title no less) under the name RC Haas.

yeah it's weird, he died of this weird heart thing (maybe a heart attack). So odd whenever you hear about someone that age dying of that. Since he was a collegiate wrestler, and how well Charlie turned out, I don't think it was excessive Steroids or drug use since I never heard anything about it. His death is kind of a weird mystery.

As I recall it was a genetic thing. They knew there was a possibility, but no signs had ever showed up, then one day it just was there. One thing about Russ though, from the times I saw the two of them, the man was the talker amongst them.

Pretty sure Charlie's the older of the two actually. Could be wrong, but they're not twins. Not a huge age difference, maybe a year or two.

I actually remember hearing about this on WWF.com before I even knew who Haas was.

The Haas Brothers even had a piece in one of the Apter mags once, upcoming stars of the future on the independent scene and all that.
