I think it will be here for awhile. Seriously just have every match extreme rules matches(you don't have to have every match involve weapons just have them no dq no count outs and still have that feelinganything could happen and when it does it will be special) and give the title to uber heel (hint: Burchill) than ECW will be awesome also develop a couple newer faces the crowd could get behind and really just make it diffrent from RAW(sports Entertainment) and Smackdown(more of a JCP/WCW type of a show). Make ECW more like independent wrestling and it will be successful.

Let's see what happens with the Sci Fi Channel. I believe ECW's TV deal expires this December, so it'll be interesting to keep tabs on any news as that month draws closer. Ok.....that's what I was wondering. It all depends on what SciFi decides to do. Honestly, Vince is running out of channels to shop his crappty rehash to. If SciFi cancels ECW (And what a statement THAT would be, considering the quality of movies THEY make, and would air in it's spot) then ECW is probably finished.

I don't think they will any time soon, if ever.
It doesn't pull the greatest ratings but it does well for what it is.

They won't, but Sci-Fi very well may at the end of the year. QFT Isn't it their highest rated show? (Or one of the highest) No real reason for them to want to do that.

But then again, they also air Law And Order eps from time to time. I still don't like things they do on the show, but it's not as infuriating as it was before, thanks mostly to the New Breed/Originals storyline. If that goes to the side, who knows where the quality will go.

Like I said just have all extreme rules matches and that will make ECW a success. The thing is, what made Tuesday's match special was that they got to use weapons and the like. So, in that respect, the Extreme Rules kinda works. But it flies in the face of everything that ECW represented by having countouts and DQ's. It makes no sense with the ECW name.

Now don't quote me on this, but I'm almost positive that ECW did occasionally have countouts and DQs. I think ECW Rules just meant that weapons are legal and the refs are extremely lenient.

Good point. It was the difference between falls count anywhere matches and regular matches. But the countout and DQ so rarely happened, it never became a staple like it did with Extreme Nitro. I kinda hate the DQ, because it's a cheap way to get a wrestler over or not have him get pinned.

Now don't quote me on this, but I'm almost positive that ECW did occasionally have countouts and DQs. I think ECW Rules just meant that weapons are legal and the refs are extremely lenient. It didn't have countouts ever to my kowledge. It didn't have many DQs, they tended to be 'ref stops the match' due to brutality as opposed to DQ. The only real DQs were when there were no contests due to interference, for example, at Anarchy Rulz 1999 during a tag match The Baldies, Doring and Roadkill and eventually New Jack interfered, causing the match to be abandoned. The best way to sav ECW IMO would be to first and foremost, shift Lashley to Raw. Get rid of Striker somehow, I can't stand him. Give La Resistance an onscreen role or send them to SD. Give most Originals more matches, but don't neccessarily have them win them all, or even win most. Put the title on either Punk, RVD or a new call-up monster heel such as Burchill. Put WGTT on ECW, they're doing less than zero on Raw. Bring back the ECW tag titles. Put Vito back on TV with Guido as the FBI. Since Colt Cabana is now signed, put him on ECW and either reform the Second City Saints, or keep him seperate and feud with Punk. I would say put Kennedy on ECW but he's doing great on SD so leave him be. send Benoit to ECW though, he'd be great there. Also get rid of the Extreme Rules/No extreme rules concept- make it proper ECW, pretty much anything goes, extreme ruels all the time (but that doesn't mean every match is weapons filled). That could make ECW a serious 3rd brand.

Shane Douglas was DQed during a match with Terry Funk in July 1997 when Francine was biting Terry Funk's ear.

I see it lasting through out the rest of the year and the plug being pulled in early 2008.

If that goes to the side, who knows where the quality will go. STARGATE SG1 is and was a monster hit for the SciFi network, pulling in big ratings and loyal fans who followed it from Showtime when it jumped. Now the SciFi honchos are cancelling it right in the midst of what may be it's greatest storyline EVER, and despite VERY vocal fan protestations. ECW is NO STARGATE SG1 by ANY means, with Vince having driven away the die hard fans almost completely. My point is, that the SCIFI honchos are completely incompetent, and as such, no program is safe from their axe.
