Technically, Heyman's blundering pulled the plug on ECW a long time ago. Now that Vince has recieved all the nostalgia dollars and fired all the old talent, I wonder what he'll do. It will survive until it no longer makes good money or they decide to take it another direction. But how long? No more than a year or two, probably. It won't last forever.

Let's see what happens with the Sci Fi Channel. I believe ECW's TV deal expires this December, so it'll be interesting to keep tabs on any news as that month draws closer.

Tell me if I'm wrong, ok?
Wasn't that original short-term Sci-fi Network deal for ECW was supposed to be basically to convince USA that it would succede and put it on friday/saturday nights?
No, I dont know where I got that notion from.

No, I dont know where I got that notion from. Something to that effect, I think. Although I'm not quite sure which network they were targeting. I don't think they were ever going to go long term on SciFi.

I doubt it costs much to make the show, since the production crew is already there for Smackdown and it's a good place to make new wresters into stars. Like CM Punk and Elijah Burke so for that reason I can see it lasting a long time.

I have to say, I think it's here to stay until the production costs become too prohibitive or the ratings sink for it. And considering that the quality of the product's gotten better lately, I don't see anything happening to it. Just don't expect it to somehow magically become the old ECW again, or to see the Originals on the show for much longer.

It's a sinkhole, and it's been so since inception. When the contract comes up, and Sci-Fi points out they can get similarly bad ratings with repeats of Sliders or Tremors 4, WWECW goes back on the shelf.

They seem to be using it as a more high-profile, developmental show to get newcomers exposure before moving them to SD/Raw, so I don't think that it will be going anywhere.

For the last few weeks ECW has been the best show of all three brands.

They won't, but Sci-Fi very well may at the end of the year.

The clock is ticking. Unless they give creative control to Heyman (which will happen when hell freezes over), it's going down like the Hindenburg.

Any chances that WWE will simply have it on WWE 24/7 if Sci-Fi cancels?

Hopefully asap, but more likely it'll be in 1-3 years.
