...And someone may have said the same damn thing over the weekend, but I'm saying it, and you can take it to the bank.
Cody Rhodes is the future of this industry.
I know, I know, we haven't seen how he works in the ring, we haven't seen him in front of live crowds, hell, we don't even know if he's even going to WRESTLE anytime soon. But after seeing him induct his dad, the way that kid talks, the way he carries himself, like it's so easy for him...if he even has half of his father's skills in the ring, I think he'll be the big time player that this business needs to revitalize itself.
Keep your Rodimers and your Cenas and your MVP's...this kid is going to be huge.

With his lisp the the only gimmick he'll get is one featuring rainbow bumper stickers.

I didn't notice this lisp everybody keeps talking about. I thought he spoke well.
Someone said he had a lisp worse than Dusty himself, which is just absurd.

They need to push him as his own man to be successful. That was the problem with Randy Orton. They wouldn't shut up about the 3rd Generation connection. They did that with The Rock too, but it wasn't until they dropped it altogether that fans started recognizing The Rock as his own man, independent of his father and grandfather's legacy. Let Cody make his own way. It's better than painting him into a corner as Dusty's son/Goldust's brother.

No offense but, I can't believe you couldn't notice. I hardly ever notice those things but, his was glaring. I don't know that it is worse than Dusty's but, at least Dusty has his accent to cover it, Cody doesn't have that. That said, he was excellent and has a natural charisma about him and should do real well for himself if people will overlook his bloodline.

Until he said "then, my dad bought my sithter a sithtem for her car on her sithkteenth birthday" that is. THEN...i was sold on him. Now, i hope a member of WWE Creative has seen 50 First Dates and makes Rhodes' gimmick a takeoff of Sean Astin's from that movie, that'd be GREAT!

Maybe I wasn't listening all that close or something I guess. I'm definitely not lying when I say I didn't notice though.

Really? He spoke well ( sans the lisp thing, but whatcha gonna do?) but you're basing his future superstar status on that?

I still think that Dustin could've been a main eventer...he was GREAT at everything he did. I think they missed the ball with him. Perhaps if Cody is anything like him, they might do something special. They didn't drop the ball, Goldust had personal problems which halted his momentum in 97. Seriously, not everyone who isn't being used to the full potential isn't entirely WWE's fault.

I actually thought he sounded a little stiff and didn't show much personality or charisma. I happened to notice the speech impediment, but I don't think that it will effect his ability to do promos because it was not really as pronounced as some as saying. I'll withhold judgment on whether he will be a big hit in the wrestling world, but I do wish him well.
