It looked to me from her expressions that she botched the ending and wasn't supposed to have been pinned that early.
What's the point of a lumberjack (refuse to call it "lumberjill") match if you won't even have any of the standard outside spots with it?

There were no noticable botches from what I could tell

It just seemed to me that she was almost in tears. Sort of a "Oh crap, I'm in deep trouble now" type of look.
It could just be me, though.

The lumberjill part was so obviously an afterthought it was ridiculous. They threw Melina in the ring once, and started brawling after the match for no reason.

I didnt even watch. My buddy used the match as a smoke break, and I joined him outside. I had zero desire to see the match. The only reason I knew who won is the clips they showed after Mania.

Maybe it was a screwjob. Vince didn't want Ashley going to TNA with the women's title, and she refused to lose in Michigan.

I don't think Ashley botched anything. We've seen what happens when Ashley botches moves. If she would have botched the ending here, no doubt she would have ended up doing a Tiger Driver '91 by mistake.

I kinda thought the same thing, he match ended rather abruptly it seemed. I figured their would be a spot with Ashley being throw to the outside or something.

Wasn't there a rumor a month ago about Melina's job being on the line depending on whether she would have a good match with Ashley? If that's the case, than perhaps HBK was actually waving goodbye to her and not the dumbass who ran into the ring.
