There's been some discussion about Alex Wright here on the boards since somebody posted that great montage of him dancing on youtube. I think that WWE should give Das Wonderkind a shot in the big leagues. And here's how I'd book it.
___
WWE hypes a mystery entrant for the Royal Rumble. Each week, there's a vignette of this mystery worker training wearing all black. There's clips of him destroying Bruce Pritchard at a WWE training facility. Everybody thinks it's going to be somebody big - like Lesnar or Monty Brown. During the training vignettes, WWE plays Going the Distance by Bill Conti.
So, here comes the Royal Rumble. It's about midway through when the Casio clock counts down to zero. The lights go out and Going the Distance plays on the PA. A lone spotlight shines on the mystery wrestler as he walks to the ring.
Once he gets in, the ring clears except for Scotty 2 Hotty, who was getting beaten mercifully by everybody. The man in black helps Scotty up. The lights go down again and when they come back on, it's Alex Wright - the BEE KEEPER. He's only wearing the protective helmet, tights, and boots. He starts dancing and is soon eliminated.
Cut to the next edition of SmackDown:
Alex Wright does a sitdown interview with Michael Cole. In it, he reveals that since leaving WCW, he has become a bee keeper. However, he always has to wear earplugs because whenever he hears music, he inexplicably starts dancing - like Bernie from Weekend at Bernies 2. Michael Cole asks him to demonstrate how he takes care of the bees.
Wright gets ready and goes over to the bees. He puts on his helmet and ear plugs. He is only wearing short neon green tights and black boots. He gives Michael Cole the thumbs up and begins tending the bees. Cole starts talking to him, which makes Das Wonderkind take out his earplugs to hear him. That's when Scotty 2 Hotty gets his revenge for Alex Wright costing him the chance to wrestle the champ at WrestleMania. Scotty blares Alex's WCW theme, which makes Alex start dancing .
Wright is attacked by bees and thus setting up an Alex Wright/Scotty 2 Hotty feud.
