With JBL rumored to be making a WrestleMania return, I've started to think about who I'd like his opponent to be.
So far, I've come up with only one opponent that makes any sense...Ron Simmons.
Sure, JBL could beat up the Miz. But JBL would have to play a face for that match, and people won't buy the JBL character as a babyface. And the Miz sucks and I don't want him getting a big WM paycheck;-)
But JBL/ Simmons makes sense. Former tag partners who never got the big break up fight. Back stage friends. And both semi-retired, so no annoying internet arguments about why the guy back for one day only got to go over a hot young stud.
And I'm really not concerned about who would not get a place on the card because of this match- the WWE roster is not that deep. My life won't be ruined if the APA fighting amongst themselves prevents the Highlanders or Cryme time from getting a spot at the biggest event of the year.
So, JBL VS Ron Simmons at WrestleMania- any thoughts?

If JBL has to have a match, that's as good as any. Rumor is he wants Undertaker, hence the Teddy Long promo a couple of weeks ago.

I'd like to see it. Both are pretty much retired, so it would be a fun little midcard match.
Also, I think it's a possibility since WWE have reintroducted Simmons to the audience; many fans might not have remembered him if he just appeared out of the blue for a match with JBL.

Maybe JBL could lose to Sylvan. That would be funny.

Makes sense to me. JBL has changed so dramatically since his APA days that their personalities would clash so easily these days. Just make a APA reunion, as is the popular thing these days, have both of them babyface and show JBL's slow decent into hatred as he eventually turns on Ron at Royal Rumble or something.

Yeah and I guess JBL should squash Miz at WM, because Hoorah sucks, and Miz is the worst wrestler on Smackdown!

I like the idea of him wrecking someone in a face role. The thing against Masters in Iraq was great.

JBL is the savior of Smackdown! And I believe he is the best commentator in the WWE right now. [glow=red,2,300] [/glow]

I could imagine something like that, but without the APA reunion (I guess JBL doesn't want to wrestle semi-regularly). It would only need a few backstage segments where Simmons attacks JBL for having become a boring businessman, or JBL attacks Simmons for living in the past and not growing up or something, and we have a nice buildup to a decent farewell match.

I liked the JBL entrance at Mania 21. The falling money and the motorcade leading the limo into the arena. Good stuff.

It would make sense to have JBL vs Taker with JBL talikng bad about Teddy and has made mention a few times how the last ride match one one of the main reasons for his retirement. The problem lies with the matches they had was not that good and we would have another WM where you know Taker isnt going to lose much like the Mark Henry match. Saying all that I still wouldnt mind seeing it.
