I know vince has hired hollywood writes for his creative tema but it seems as if they are more like sitcom writers..it just seems everytime they try and create something for some1 2 get over they use comedy...shelton benjamin had 2 have a comedy gimmick with his mamma..finlays gotta have a comedy midget..highlanders aren't in touch with the regular world..cryme tyme speak jive...
Thats what i noticed...it sems all wwe ever try and produvce is comedy..if they wanna get some1 over they give them a comedy gimmick...numerous comedy skits backstage...
I dont know why they dont just watch movies!...i mean they are from hollywood right?...how many great movie characters could they base a character upon!?....just as they based waylon mercy on max cady form cape fear..why dont they do that with other great chatracters..how bout a character based upon tyler durden for example...but noooooo..the only characters they seem 2 want are stupid ones that make us laugh...
Is anyone else just sick of all this lame comedy?

They need to see how comedy actually works in wrestling; comedy wrestling is a legit style, and comedy outside the ring needs to come from the person portraying the character itself, and not from a bunch of writers.
Somebody send them some tapes of HUSTLE, PWG, or Best Of's of Ebessan/Kikutaro, Colt Cabana, Delirious, and Larry Sweeney.

I'm not. I love lame comedy.
I still find 2000 to be the best year the WWE had this decade, especially with Foley as commish and Edge/Christian. Frankly, they need more comedy. And cowbell.

but it's not GOOD comedy. JBL is good comedy. HUSTLE is good comedy. DX is not good comedy

Exactly. Comedy has its place in wrestling. But WWE's version of comedy is a cartoon about Vince McMahon's ass and John Cena telling people they smell like poop.

D-X has its moments, usually when HBK and HHH are just being goofy. Most of the comedy they did after the Vince feud was hilarious.

WWE's problem: They push who they want & not who the fans want.

And they push people too early.

Let's look at Larry Sweeney from ROH and CHIKARA for a second.
Here's a guy that can do a serious interview with no cursing, very family friendly, and yet not only come across as a completely over-the-top egotistical madman, but also as a very intense, driven individual. He's funny and legitimate at the same time.
In the WWE, you have DX and Cena who are allowed to crack jokes and still pummel everyone. Everyone else is either a comedy character that exists only to get destroyed, or a 'monster' character that never does anything interesting and wins all the time. There aren't any ... 'real' characters. No guys that I can see as people with traits that are a bit cranked up, but still real people, wrestling to show everyone that they're the best there is or prove whatever point.
Aside from, oh, I don't know, Fit Finlay and William Regal, I can't really take any of the WWE guys seriously. And that's only because Finlay and Regal have an aura of guys that have been everywhere and done everything. Even the Undertaker doesn't have this feel, because he has a character that forces him to speak in a low, monotone voice and shoot lightning bolts.

Not to mention if they booked eveyrone in the arena, all the wrester's, fans, announcers, ring crew, girl who rips tickets, guy who mops the floors against Cena, I wouldn't believe Cena had a chance of losing.
That's also a problem. Hope. I can't even hope Cena ever loses, because, like flying to the moon on a shuttle made of chocolate and feathers, I know it just won't happen.

What do I mean? The storylines aren´t completely jokes. Imagine a movie satire, it´s more or like this. Just look at Giant Voba.

The only comedy I find on WWE RAW is when it's unintentional... I can't stand that 'Police Academy' type crap they try to ram down your throat! Specially with forced (Double standards) laughs coming out of J.R. & the King! JBL on Smackdown on the other hand is Gold! ;D

If you can't entertain them wrestling-wise, then how can you entertain them comedicly?

I have a whole bundle of criticisms when it comes to my views on WWE creative and the half-arsed comedy they put in the show but I just think....
They arn't intentionally trying to piss us off with the unfunny skits and angles, .
They are at least trying their best to entertain viewers.
Cut 'em some slack.
(Waits for the smark backlash)
Bring it on!

The problem is that Wrestling has such a wide fan base. Im sure most kids love the DX humor, so WWE does it, because kids are the ones who buy alot of the merchandise.
I love most of the comedy WWE does: The Freaks at Wrestlemania, the trial of Eric Bischoff, etc. were all really funny
But some of it is crap like: JR's ass surgery, Cena's poo jokes, most of the dx stuff

Worst of all, is that their comedy is completely humor free.
Having lots of comedy would be good if it actually made me laugh...such as the japanese comedy matches.
