Sid was awesome.
He just came out and you thought he could kick your ass through the TV.
He just had ass-kicking charisma.
He got goofy later on, but he was the man.

For those who think Sid was crap, just remember even the ECW faithful marked for him. Sure, he didn't eat, drink, sleep, and crap wrestling like some of the IWC's darlings, but that's ok. He was captivating, interesting as a heel, and did a good job when given the chance. Just because his focus in life did not match the focus of someone like Benoit does not mean that his priorities were in any way wrong. Those ECW guys chanted smack about all the mainstream guys, but if the lights went out and they showed up they would definitely w00t and cheer for them.

Does anyone know where a clip of the main event match from Wrestlemania 8 can be found? I can't find it anywhere.

I liked sid. I marked out like crazy when Shawn Michaels brought him in prior to Wrestlemania XI. He was the few heels I enjoyed. He was also great in ECW but when he returned to WCW he just became too much of a hugup for me.

The biggest problem with Sid is the only thing he'll be remembered for this generation is snapping his leg Come on now, we also remember him for stabbing people with scissors, attacking people with squeegees, sticking squirrels down his pants and crapping himself in the ring. I was at Sids return match at International Incident where he replaced Ultimate Warrior. He was over. But he's similiar to Batista in that it's not so much that he's particularly good, as much as all the other faces suck, so people cheer for him.

You could always count on Sid to be entertaining. He became a joke when he came back to WCW in the late 90s. Before that, though, he was a badass character in both WWF and WCW. I marked for him big time during that time.

He didn't kick out to hug with Hogan, he kicked out because Shango was supposed to break up the count and didn't make it in time, so Sid kept up with plans as best he could and didn't let the match end right there. Now I'm no wrestling insider, but it seems to me like one of those cases like in WCW where Hogan told the ref not to do the quick count on Sting so that the ending which was supposed to be controversial was anything but, making Hogan look like a good winner at the cost of everyone else in the company. Hogan probably told Papa Shango to just wait in the back and assumed Sid would just take the loss. WHO KNOWS?! SHUT UP! Jesus, saying Hogan told Shango to stay in back..... people like you piss me off

I was always a bit of a Sid fan. The guy was by no means a wrestling machine, but he just had "it". He just looked like he could straight up kick your ass.

I always liked Sid. He had the type of look that made you believe he would kill someone. His powerbomb was sick. He didn't cut the best promos but he had good charisma so it made him likeable. Suvivor Series 96 was is my favorite Sid match.

I liked Sid. The guy could have been bigger but he wasn't good enough.
Watching War Games 1991 showed me though that this guy shouldn't have been in the ring. You can see him call out EVERY spot he does beforehand. When he doesn't call out a spot, he looks completely lost. Considering he had been in the sport for three years at that point...

Truthfully I guess I can say that I liked Sid, but I enjoyed him mostly as a threat (not someone to cheer for, but a great opponent for the guy I would be cheering).

Sid always kicked ass. He legitimately looked crazy and would destroy anyone around him. That's a fascinating character, and he wasn't Mark Henry-bad in the ring. All in all, that's a solid package.

I will give him credit for kicking out of the Leg Drop of Doom back in wrestlemania of 92. It shocked the world to many, especially the Hulkamaniacs.
