Gerweck:
WWE has fired Ring of Honor star Claudio Castagnoli last week, even before he reported to Deep South Wrestling. Castagnoli dropped the ROH Tag Team title recently with the idea he would be reporting to Georgia soon to honor his WWE developmental deal. According to Dave Meltzer, WWE has told Castagnoli to attempt to honor his previous bookings. Castagnoli did cancel a Japanese tour to star with Deep South. Apparently more WWE firings are coming.

Man, I figured it would just be a temporary setback. Oh, well, more Claudio for Chikara and ROH.

As for "more firings coming", I hate to say I want to see someone lose his job, but please just let James Gibson go. If you are going to have him on TV once every 2 months and not do anything with him, let him come back to ROH.

There's nothing to fret, we'll see the dude under a full-time WWE contract at some point, sooner than later.

Right now I'm trying to figure out what would posess them to let go of Claudio before he's even reported to DSW, and I can only get one conclusion. There is only one man who would dare do something so stupid and still keep his job: Johnny Ace. I'd take that bet. As for "more firings coming", I'd bank on all the real talent in the developmental leagues, aka Burchill and several others.

Another brilliant move by the WWE Claudio is one of the only indy wrestlers I've somewhat followed and liked. They can him but Snitsky is still here.

And I don't see the big deal. Yeah, I'd love to see him in the E too, but nothing in the report said they never wanted him again, just for him to do some more indy stuff.
