Matches you want for Best of Rock DVD

I was actually watching The Rock vs Brock Lesnar from SummerSlam 2002, and I haven't watched The Rock wrestle in awhile, even on old tapes, and man. Do you ever see those guys are hear of them who don't like a particular wrestler or whatever and you can't understand why. Anyway, that's what I feel when people bad mouth The Rock and his ability in the ring. I just, I'm completely perplexed. They must not like The Rock for some reason and have some random bias against The Rock, because, holy crap. That match was awesome. Even in that match, Rock would switch from babyface to heel in just a few minutes and go back and forth, just like he did with Hogan at WM 18. The Rock is so quick and so smooth in the ring, it's just ridiculous.

I heard that this year in 2007, the WWE is going to be releasing the best of The Rock. When I heard that, I was so excited. The Rock and his best matches. The Rock is great on the mic, but in the ring, man is he something. Here are some matches I want to see:

Good choices except you got some of the dates wrong. That Rocky debut was Survivor Series 1996. The Rock vs HHH 2 out of 3 falls was Fully Loaded 1998.

The Rock vs The Hurricane - Raw 2003

I was there live for that match. Fantastic match, too. I think they should have the backstage skits between the two as extras, because those were huggin' CLASSIC!

Rock vs. Eddie Guerrero-Raw 7/22/02, awesome match and they worked well together, not just in the match, but in the prematch promo leading into it as well, too bad they didn't have an extended program with one another.

I highly doubt the Iron Man Match will be on there, but I want to see it again. I would say that is the best Iron Match the WWE had.

But how could you go without mentioning what promos you want on the DVD? Seriously, if the WWE allowed one person to just go off on their opponents like Rock did, or even in the manner Rock did, they would be over. Seriously, could you imagine seeing Kennedy make fun of Undertaker or Cena making fun of HHH? No, not now or if they did, it would be tame.

The interviews I wanted included:
-The classic interview with the cops after Survivor Series. The cops ask The Rock if he knows anything about the Austin incident and Rock tells them what to do with their favorite donut (Michael Cole tried poorly to hide his laughter)
-The Rock talking about his upcoming match at SummerSlam with Billy Gunn and mimics Billy Gunn praying
-The two interviews where he mimics his five opponents at Armageddon (?): Rikishi, Austin, Angle, Taker, Kane
-Any promo where he makes fun of Big Show

Great list, but I'd add his match with Benoit at Fully Loaded 2000 (I think). A fast-paced, back and forth battle which really got me interested in Benoit back then.

I'd have pretty much the same list as the one listed, and I do agree that the Rock has become a little bit underappreciated in the IWC.

I also love the Rock-Lesnar match myself, it was the same show that had another one of my favarites, Rey Mysterio vs Kurt Angle.

The Rock-Lesnar match was great in so many ways. It was structured a little bit differently than most main event matches, on another level of entertainment, and Brock hung with the Rock that night. In this match, even though it was 20+ minutes, the "heat" of the match started right at the very beginning, as if there was no beginning, which is rare, and is very difficult as a heel to keep the fans on their toes for 20 minutes with the match starting with the "heat" after only 4 punches by the Rock. But Brock was able to do it.

It may seem like the Rock switched from face to heel a few times during the match, and I understand why we might think that due to dome of his mannerisms, but actually, the Rock wrestled the entire match as a face, and Brock wrestled the entire match as a heel. It's just that when the fans started booing him, the Rock egged them on so they could get it out of their systems, and the strategy is that it might prepare them to cheer him at the end. If the fans want to boo you, you can't fight it, even if you're a face, because if you do, then they'll just try harder to boo you, but if you get it out of their systems early, they may be cheering you at the end of the match. It dosen't always work though.

When I first started learning about match structure about 2 years ago, this was on of the harder matches for me to analyze, as well as any Undertaker, Savage, Flair, Hart, or Steamboat match. Which is a good thing.

I just want a DVD that has all the promos that Rock and Jericho did together. Including the one where they both went off on Stephanie, and the one where they cut a promo on each other using each others catch phrases.

Put Rock's two Backlash matches on there instead of the Iron Man. Save the Iron Man for a HHH compilation.

Just for a "Did You Know?" match (although I think it's available on WWE 24/7 Online), they could include Bret Hit Man Hart versus Rocky Maivia. It was not the greatest match, and its conclusion was nothing memorable, but it is good that they had at least one match considering where both of them are placed in wrestling history nowadays.
