Hey guys. I did some thinking, and I think I've figured out the angle on Monday. Here ya go. As always, suggestions are greatly appreciated.
(Scene opens during the mid-point of RAW, Batista, fresh off his match, knocks on Teddy Long’s office door)
Batista: Teddy? You in there?
Long: Door’s open, playa!
Batista: So, is the meeting set?
Long: Yep. He should be here any second now. Great idea to have this on appreciation night.
Batista: Thanks, I figure it’ll get us more business that way.
Long: Believe that, playa. (Teddy dances in his seat)
(Batista, seeing Teddy, becomes overjoyed and does his machine gun dance and Vince enters the office)
Vince: (in a quiet voice) Am I interrupting anything?
Batista: (stopping dancing) Uh, no, not at all. Please, uh, have a seat.
Vince: Look is there no way I can talk you out of this?
Batista: Look, we can be professional here, I promise.
Vince: Fine. (he sits)
(scene shifts to Kane, talking to Kenny Dykstra)
Kane: Come on, man, just one?
Dykstra: Look, I’ve moved past that, okay? You can too, it’s easy.
Kane: But I don’t want to move past it, don’t you understand? Cheering makes me happy, and it makes other people happy. Besides, if we’re calling it quits, what the HELL am I supposed to do with 200 pairs of red and black pompoms?
Dykstra: Decorate a theme restaurant?
Kane: I can’t cook, everything always burns.
Dykstra: Look, I don’t know, but the whole cheering thing, it just didn’t work out, okay?
Kane: How didn’t it work out?
Dykstra: Every time you waved your pompoms or did a jumping jack, things exploded, man. Do you have any idea how expensive that gets?
Kane: I have money, you know, I invested.
Dykstra: So what are you saying?
Kane: Look, if I promise to pay for damages, can we PLEASE start the squad up again?
Dykstra: Tell you what, I’ll think about it, okay?
(Dykstra leaves, with Kane sitting, dejected on a bench behind the building)
(Scene changes back to Long’s office)
Teddy: Listen here, playa, it’s a gold mine, I’m telling you. A twenty-five story luxury hotel, think of the money! Besides, it’s not like you can’t just buy a new office building, right?
Vince: But that’s not the point, the building has been in my family for generations. I just don’t know if I can part with it. (he wipes at his eyes, hands shaking slightly)
Batista: I’m sorry, but Vince, you leave me no choice here. See, the deed to the Towers, that’s mine. And come today, I’m gonna be needing it back.
Vince: Are you threatening me? I’m VINCENTKENNEDYMCMAHONDAMMIT!
Batista: (yelling for no reason) TEDDY!
Teddy: Vince, you leave me no choice. If you won’t hand over the deed to its rightful owner, then you must go one on one with (dramatic pause as Teddy bats at a balloon floating randomly through the room) the Undatakah!
Taker: (popping his head in the door) Do it yourself, Teddy. I’m on break.
Teddy: Break?
Taker: Union rules, you can’t call me for another half an hour.
Teddy: But, but he has to go –
Taker: Not my problem.
Teddy: (shaking his head) We’ll get back to you, Vince.
Vince: You’re really going to take away my building, aren’t you?
Teddy: We’ll share the profits.
Vince: It’s not that, but so many memories. Bailing out Snuka every other week, Dink the clown, the (he begins to sob) Repo Man. So many beautiful memories.
Batista: (trying to be supportive) Look, Vince those memories are yours, we won’t be needing those, just the building. We’ll give you some time, allright?
Vince: (clawing at his eyes) Fine, that will be…fine.
(Batista and Long exit the room and head out back, spotting Kane}
Kane: Hey guys.
Batista: What’s wrong?
Kane: I hate this. I used to have direction, but now…now I feel so lost.
Long: What’s worng?
Kane: Kenny says he doesn’t want to get the squad back together. He says I need to move on, but I don’t want to.
(Vince comes walking out the door, deed to Titan Towers in hand)
Vince: Here, HERE, just take it! I hope you two are happy! (he throws the deed to the ground at Long’s feet)
Teddy: Listen here, playa, we can all be fine. We cut you in on the profits, and we can all be better off.
(Vince walks back inside to speak to the crowd, leaving Long, Batista and Kane sitting outside)
Kane: What was that all about?
Batista: Why’s he so mad? All I did was take back what’s mine.
Kane: I wish I could help him. What can I do?
Long: Go one on one with the Undatakah?
Kane: I meant something different.
(Teddy shrugs)
Kane: I know! I’ll do a cheer, that’ll help him, right?
(Teddy and Batista just stare)
Kane: WHAT?
Batista: Well…if you say it’ll help, I mean, you can try.
Kane: It’ll work, you’ll see!
(Kane heads over to wait by Vince’s limo as Teddy and Batista go inside to finish the show)
(in the ring, Vince gives an awkward speech, still thinking about his beloved Titan Towers, and walks to the back, heading down a hallway with everyone staring)
Coach: Sir, your limo is that way. (Coach points)
(Vince heads out back, as Kane waits by the limo in his Spirit Squad gear, red and black pompoms clutched in hand)
Kane: Hey Vince!
(Vince stares momentarily, then looks away, still walking to his limo)
Kane: Gimme a V!
(Kane raises his arms in a V as Vince opens the door and begins to climb in his limo)
Kane: Gimme an I
(he brings his hands together as Vince closes he door)
Kane: Gimme an N!
(Kane brings his arms down and the limo explodes)
Kane: (staring open mouthed) Vince? VINCE? You okay in there?
(there is no answer)
Kane: Uh, I gotta go.
(Kane runs off as the scene ends)
