First, let me commend WWE for their decision to cut short the storyline about Mr. McMahon being murdered. It was a classy and appropriate move on their part. However, I just want to know, is anyone else a little disappointed? The story was so over the top and ridiculous (and it gave us a great photoshop thread) that it was hard not to enjoy it. It would have been fun to see where it would have lead to. Will probably get flamed for this.

I didn't think it was that bad. WWE wants to be and is a soap opera and when hasn't Stefano faked his death on Days of our lives.

I really hated the storyline. It was so dumb and far-fetched... a limo explosion... really Vince?
It could have worked if it wasn't so... out there and un-believable. The replay of the explosion every other segment didn't help and it didn't help when someone ALWAYS had to come out after a match on RAW to say something on it. It was lame and I'm glad it is over.

It has to be over. Vince's "death" can't honestly continue now, can it? For one, it's classless. For two, it's been dekayfabed. Although I kind of wanted to see it pan out as well. Who knows.

Of coarse I miss it! It was legitamatley interesting, over the top, not really that tasteless, and it would of led to... Linda Being Arested! Okay, on second thought, I don't miss it that much.

To be honest, I liked it.
But now that's it done, I can accept that and am eager to see what's next storywise in the WWE

I didn't like the storyline. I mean, it was the same calibre of the storylines we constantly bitched about with WCW's storylines 6 or 7 years ago. It was cheesy, immoral, and generally didn't have a profit to the company (as the losses in support dropped). It's lucky that Benoit passed with such controversy and at such time, as that loss in support is almost nullified, and general public's interest is raised.
I'll finish this post when I get home.

Vince faking his own death would have worked out just fine. Anything else, guaranteed Gooker. BUT *a big kiss my ass club but* the faking of death couldn't be for money or ratings or anything...just Vince knowing he could never retire from this business and thinking that a trust fund and a south pacific bungalow could have done wonders for the years of physical and emotional abuse. then he legit retires, leaves the real company to Steph and the kayfabe company to Coach/Heyman/Bischoff/T-Long/etc. then we never see him again except as a special appearance at Mania or his HoF induction. Otherwise, pure unadulterated crap.

Again, how would such a storyline be resolved without it blowing up (pun!) in WWE's face?
I dare you.

In a way yes, in a way no. In the sense yes because I wanted to find out if they were gonna put a young talent over and how they were gonna have Vince come back. No because it was a weak having to see the video fifty times a night.

I would have loved a "Who Shot JR/Who Shot Mr. Burns/Who Shot Vince McMahon?" angle. But the whole "presumed dead" thing was way too real, even the limo explosion made me think of all the car bombs in Iraq. There were so many ways to have fun with it, and it just started out so heavy-handed. I'm surprised Vince could stand being off TV for so long and give up all the juicy bedside swooning for the cameras he could have done.

I thought it was one of the most interesting angles the WWE had tried in years. And before the whole Benoit thing, it was the talk of the wrestling world. It even caused the whole forum to collapse for a few minutes. Whilst I didn't care for people giving tributes in sombre voices and seeing the Guerreros feigning sadness, I was really interested in how it would all pan out and I can't say I've felt that way about a wrestling angle in years.

Not really. I thought it was a bit silly, and it took up WWWAAAAAAYYYYYYYY to much screen time.
