So, with all the heat on the WWE about steroids, I got to thinking. Let's leave aside the question of how legit this heat is - there are other threads for that. The fact is it's there and not likely to go away soon.
Do you think the more roided-looking guys on the roster are going to be buried for a while?

Wait....so Cena will be pushed back for a while? Sweet!
No...seriously, Cena does look roided out, especially for his body size.
So if they shuffle guys that look roided out down the card for a while, I see Cena, Lashley, Masters, and a few other guys, go for a while.

This might be the repeat of 1992-1993, when McMahon was heavily entrenched in the steroids case and took the focus off of the big guys like Hogan and Sid and put it on smaller guys such as Flair, Savage, Hart and Piper.
I doubt it means we'll see Cena drop the belt to Brian Kendrick, but it might mean that the monsters such as Lashley, Masters and Snitsky might see some time in the upper mid-card rather than the main event.

Masters might get de-pushed, but Lashley won't. They've spent too much time building up Lashley as the next big superhero. Masters on the other hand..... not so much.

Yes, and further, I wouldn't be surprised to see a CM Punk mega-push sometime in the near future.
Not because he's an IWC Golden Boy, but because his long-standing Straight Edge character would be used to counter the steriod backlash that they're about to receive.

Kind of like after the MSG incident where HHH took all the heat for it because the other guys were untouchable. That'd be a shame. Lashley is disgusting. His physique, more than his girly voice, is the #1 reason I can't stand him on my TV.

I don't know, I don't think it would be on physique alone. I think we are in for more Punk and especially, brace yourselves, but at 6'7" and a pretty natural muscular build, Dan Rodman might be coming to your TV soon. Vince will still want bog guys in the spotlight.

He was reportedly moved to Smackdown to get a big push there. Had a squash match on his debut.

On top of the WWE front page they've got two torso-up shots of Edge and one of CM Punk. Nitro, Batista and MVP are all shown from the shoulder up only (just a little bit of Batista's chest). Lashley is all the way at the bottom. It's a back shot of him taking a chair from Foley.

I would say looking at the champions right now, they are doing a pretty good job of getting the roid monsters out of the top picture. Edge is obviously not on anything right now, I mean, just look at him. Nitro is one of the better examples I believe of what someone of that body size could look like naturally. He's ripped, but he's not blown up out of his mind. Cena is a 50/50. The thing though is he's not really all veiny and everything which is the normal roid look. He's well built, but im unwilling to say he's on roids. Cause I really don't know. Guys like Lashley, Batista, Masters should NOT be featured prominantly right now. If they want big guys, push guys who are more naturally large. Umaga, Khali, Chuck Palumbo, Dan Rodman( ), Jacob Duncan, Mike Knox, etc. are all guys who look more natural because of their heights and natural builds. Focus more on guys like that. Actually, this might be the time to drop anyone who has failed a wellness test. Rene Dupree, Chris Masters, Drew Hankinson, Ryan O'Reilly, are the ones off the top of my head. As much as I like some of those guys, keeping them around at this point just isnt a good idea.

Yeah, Nitro's whole "I train, Punk doesn't" feud set up is looking interesting. It's a way for WWE to emphasize clean wrestlers and work in the straight edge gimmick without clubbing people over the head with it so soon.

I definitely see Punk getting a LOT of attention since he's the perfect example of a wrestler the WWE should put into the limelight at this point in time.
However, I do think it should still be a slow, steady build.... as, no matter what, hotshotting him at this point would be way too much pressure right now.

Masters might, but I don't see Lashley getting de-pushed.
However, some of the smaller guys will likely get a push. Even Nitro right now, like, he's only about 220. Back in the day, there's no way WWE would even imagine pushing Johnny Nitro, but here we are.
Punk is definitely what they want now I feel. The Straight Edge gimmick he's got going will take him far.
And as said above, it's likely the natural monsters will be pushed, or pushed harder. Like, Umaga for example doesn't have the definition on any part of his body to be on the gas, but is very athletic and very menacing.
Edge used to be on the gas, and you can tell from a picture of him in 2004 as compared to now. Cena, like, I don't think he's on the gas, because he's always been working out. The guy is a former body builder, and you can tell from looking at older pictures that, while he still has definition, he's a lot smaller.
A lot of people would have laughed at the idea that Benoit was doing steroids honestly, but you never know. Also, if a guy tore something, they're f***ed. Because normally that's a tell tale sign they're on the roids. So Mr. Kennedy, Triple H better watch out when they get back. But yeah, a lot of guys have the potential to be pushed. Hell, William Regal even. He was gonna get a push before, now he might end up getting pushed harder to get away from that look.
