Quick question for anyone that watched the PPV from last sunday? How was Benoit's absence from the card explained? I know that Nitro filled in, but they had to say something. I'm trying to put my finger on this wiki thing. What was the exact quote from Taz or Styles and how emphasized was it. Did they reiterate the family emergency thing more than once? Did they just say it once?

Oh lord, they posted up the last picture of Chris taken, the day the this started. It was by a fan in the Doctor's office. www.pwmania.com/newsarticle.php?page=185082773He doesn't look different than he usually does. I'm still confused.

It's just hard to imagine someone hearing the commentators lightly glance over the fact that Benoit had a family emergency and automatically go wiki up a rumor about the wife being dead that is right on target. I didn't watch the PPV, but if I heard the commentators say that, I wouldn't have jumped to that conclusion. Benoit is 40 years old and has parents or maybe even grandparents that are probably atleast 65 plus years in age. It could have just as easily been an elderly member of his family with an illness etc. I'm not really buying into the wiki conspiracy thing, but it is weird. If anyone remembers Geraldo's never ending coverage of the O.J. trial, there was so many conspiracy theories out there that he would actually cover on a slow day. Well,, none of those theories ever panned out and we know that at the end of the day O.J. killed his wife and her friend, but is walking the streets a free man. Like Benoit, many people just could not accept that this "friendly" celebrity could be capable of such horrific acts of violence. We the audience think that we know these people after seeing them on TV for so long.

It's not far-fetched to out and out guess that Nancy Benoit was dead. We all knew there was a family emergency, and female wrestlers have an epically troubling pattern of early death disproportionately higher than their male counterparts.
Honestly, it was my first thought as well.

The only thing I don't get in all this is that Benoit appeared fine and normal on Friday (the picture taken at the doctor's office as well as the discourse he had with the fan there).
I just find that so strange. I'm NOT saying that there was someone else involved here as the evidence all points towards Chris but...how could he appear so normal and fine on Friday and then go psycho all of a sudden like he did? It's just so baffling to me.
I've accepted that Benoit did it but...it's just very bizarre.

I'm pretty sure the the dirt-sheets were reporting over the weekend the stuff about Nancy and Daniel coughing up blood (which was apparently one of the excuses Benoit used for not showing). So if one read that, it wouldn't be a HUGE leap to consider a serious, possibly fatal illness. Especially for some joker who had 'vandalized' other Wiki entries, which according to the IP address, this person had.

I guess that a jump to the conclusion that Nancy was dead was not that huge in especially in light of Sherri Martel's unfortunate death just days before.

Well...the time has come I guess. Anybody that was here yesterday knows how bad I was defending chris benoit, but I give up. Nobody wants to listen, nobody cares. I've been watching wwe(f) since wrestlemania 3 and I've been through alot with them, good times and bad but I quit. I can't handle this anymore. I feel like I'm a little kid and I just found out that there's no such thing as santa claus, only a million times worse. It's been hard enough, as some people have said already, to be a wrestling fan but its only gonna get alot worse now. I see it going under very shortly anyways. I wonder how many sponsors wwe is gonna lose? But, anyways, you guys can have it...I'm out. And for all you guys that'll say...Oh well...See ya, that just shows how real this "love" is in the IWC, doesn't it?

Nobody really wants to believe that he did this, but the evidence can't be denied. He was one of my favorite wrestlers since I was thirteen years old, so I understand how you feel...but I'm not in denial over this. As far as I know Chris did this and I have come to terms with that, even if I feel completely saddened, angered, betrayed, etc. all at the same time.

The problem with your post is that it is very blanketed like the cable "newz" everyone is making fun of. It sounds like you are condemning all wrestlers because of the actions of a few specifically Benoit. Remember when the term "going postal" was popular because of all the postal workers going nuts and killing co-workers. Everyone thought that conditions at post offices were so bad that it drove people nuts. Well, I know a postal worker and I can tell you he has it pretty good. He was a high school dropout who got a GED and now after 8 years at the post office, he is making close to 50,000 a year with killer benefits. It turned out that all these crazy people who killed co-workers just coincidentally worked at the post office. The post office hasn't changed, but the killings have stopped. Pro wrestling taxes people's bodies and minds. The difference from wrestling and other sports is that in football when you get too old they pretty much force you out the game. Wrestling has no age limit. I have been an advocate for years for a wrestling union. There needs to be a looser schedule especially for older wrestlers. However, try to look at all the wrestlers who have made a career out of wrestling and not killed theor families. Remember, you can't just count the WWE. You have to count all the individual territories from the 50's to the 90's that allowed their talent to make a very good living.

How long has that apology from the person who wrote the wiki article been out? Did I miss this happening while I slept?

Bill Apter was just on Fox News and some P.I. based in Stamford, going on about the Wiki article and of course they're not letting up on this and taking it further and saying Sherri's death is suspicious and maybe connected. Bill basically told the host that the whole Roid Rage thing is bunk and the host was condescending and mentioned how "these guys are cartoon characters". Made me want to slap the taste out of his smarmy little mouth.
