I cant image how Paul heyman feels with vince just totally destroying his baby that he put so much effort into. He's probably wishing that the stars fall from the sky...

I cant image how Paul heyman feels with vince just totally destroying his baby that he put so much effort into. Probably as well as anyone who gets to sit home and be paid for it. The original ECW died in 2002. This is just a WWE sponsered Spin-Off, which I happen to enjoy by the way. Vince helped ECW live as long as it did, so I see this as him getting his investment back. If Heyman lets THIS bother him...then he needs to get some tougher skin

I still think bringing shotgun saturday night back, would be just as fine. Besides its just used for young talent to establish themselves or old talent to get repackaged. Its not like ECW will ever get big time ratings. Vince will be lucky if it lasts another year before the network drops it.

How is Heyman feeling? I'd guess a mixture of vindication and disappointment.

I personally like the show and look forward to it each week...but if the ratings dont pick up or continue to drop we are gonna see smackdown and raw guys start to pour into the brand.

I find it interesting that when McMahon went on their it was doing a 1.7 now its down Punk/Nitro isn't the solution OR...maybe it takes time to develop a feud and get people interested in a brand that isn't full of the typical "muscleheads" of the other two shows. There is always another option.

Like I said, all they need to do is present ECW as a unique, stand alone show with material fans can't see on the other shows. It's that "simple."

One thing I'd like to see...after Miz breaks up Extreme Expose (You can see it coming)... is the WWE taking the time normally commited for the Expose and putting it to better use.
What do I mean?
If they still want to play music for that part of the show, they could have an old ECW like promo time with the songs playing behind the wrestlers.
It won't be Miserlou...but it'll be something!

I do like the new ECW theme. Marilyn Manson was a good choice. They should use more real music on the show.

It's a show with relative unknowns. The average fan doesn't really care about most of the ECW roster...which is fine with me, BTW. ECW functions better with a niche audience.

It seems to be the same show every week. How many times do we have to see Stevie vs CM Punk? How many times in recent weeks has Thorn vs Dreamer been on? The whole focus over the past few weeks has been totally on Punk and Morrison. If you don't like them or view them as main eventers then there is no purpose to watch the show and that is the reason people are tuning out

The do need a deeper roster, but then again it's hard to complain when Smackdown has like NO roster right now.

Some developmental people need to be brought up to build the roster some.
We need some hype videos...STAT!
Get Armando's Stable here...STAT!
Just something!...Stat! It will help the show really well.

Honestly, ECW is probably my favorite brand right now because it's very simple (not a thousand storylines to keep track of), it has decent TV matches, and it has a roster that hasn't been crammed down our throats over the past several years. In other words, it's a back-to-basics product with fresh faces. And yes, I consider even a veteran like Tommy Dreamer to be a fresh face because we hardly saw him at all during the past 6 years.
Now admittedly I think that ECW actually does need some more storylines and a deeper roster. if they could just get a little more stuff going on, ithink it would be perfect.

A 1.3? Wow....I know it's already been said, but TNA's going to pass them soon.

A 1.3? Wow....I know it's already been said, but TNA's going to pass them soon. I'm going to have to disagree. I don't see WWE-light...I mean TNA passing up ECW. this is just backlash from the Benoit controversy. The ratings are down for Raw also, they'll bounce back up. Still drawing way more than most shows on sci-fi.

I don't watch TNA regularly or really care about the product all that much. But aren't they pulling 1.1 and 1.2 regularly now over in the iMPACT! Zone? And wait...ah. Misunderstanding. I meant TNA was going to pass the ECW brand's ratings, not WWE as a whole. I should have made that clearer.
