they dont realize "paying your dues" got a whole lot shorter since the 80's. u can pay your dues and still wow the crowd, doesnt mean u have to start out a jobber. if you have star appeal, then i see no reason to inhibit a wrestler from being a major star very early. i see no one crying about how fast punk got pushed. but batista spends YEARS on the undercard and all hell breaks loose. the guy got told he'd never make it in the biz, through gimmick after horrible gimmick and bad story lines as well. so he deserves all accolades he receives.

I woulda done that too, you don't gotta be so defensive about it. Just cause someone gives you the finger in response to doing the equivalent as a joke ain't a big deal. Hell maybe the kids will love it that will be a great memory for em. When I was young once I got beer spilled right on my head and that was one of my favorite memories of all time. You don't gotta get so upset over everything.
And yeah good guys can do bad things. Remember Blondie from The Good The Bad and The Ugly? He left tuco out in the desert to walk 70 miles back to town with his hands tied. But they still called him The Good even though he did that.

Batista isn't what I would call "cool". He seems impulsive and emotional. That being said, if Batista added this as a regular part of his entrance, I'd mark. nothing says uncool like emotional

b) what a message to send the kids . Yes, because doing that at a show that's only still around because they found a guy who made them millions by shooting two middle fingers at a time is obviously the wrong place to do so.

This may have changed my mind about Batista. He's cool by me now. This was pretty funny. Funnier still because your friend just figured he'd get away with it

Uh, I think he's fully justified giving the kid the finger if the kid did that. Bit of a jerkhole thing to do. But then I've heard mixed stories about Batista.

Batista who debuted on May 9, 2002, and didn't win the World Heavyweight Championship until April 3, 2005, was "given his big run in a matter of a year". Right.
One year on from his debut he was essentially the 4th member of Evolution, and on the shelf after 1 month in the group, when he tore his tricep, keeping him out of action until November.
So yeah, "huge" push, in the same respect that the Basham Brothers got a huge push by being in the Cabinet with JBL, after about 1 and a half years in WWE.

Basically, your friend was being stupid and Dave gave him the finger because he deserved it.
