Thank God. Maybe now we can get rid of the kiddy one-dimensional characters and return to stories with complexities and characters who look credible, like CM Punk and John Morrison, instead of people who look like side show freaks like Umaga and Khali.

No. We'll get more kiddie stuff to try to lure them back and to try to make the WWE look more "family-friendly" as before.

I've never been to England, and I agree with this statement. From what I've heard, the Sun makes the NY Post look like a paragon of journalistic integrity.

God damnit...I think you're right.
You'd think after all this shit they'd go back to the days of having more amounts of smaller guys dominating the shows like in 1998 instead of using them as filler for the 3 or 4 giants that get all the attention.
I miss 1998 where people like Shamrock and Austin and Rock and Mankind were credible threats to the title. Of course, Kane and Taker were big but it didn't matter because the world didn't revolve around them and Vince's boner for big people.

I'd love to see a mature-themed wrestling show. I thought TNA were going to be the ones to do that, but they went the complete other way. Television is mostly about mature themes now, so it's the perfect time to do it.
Seriously, I think WWE should try and book at least one of their shows like that. Maybe start with ECW, and see how it works.

This "poll" (if it was even taken) was probably made up of some hysterical half-wits who worry about everything they're told to worry about in newspapers.
They probably don't even know who Chris Benoit was, but because he was a "child molester, or something, probably" means they have to keep their kids away from the vile filth. For at least a fortnight while they still remember, until the next thing the Sun prints gets them all hot and bothered. Video games is my next bet. Again.

That's the STUPIDEST poll I've ever heard.
"Because something horrible happened concerning an employee of this company then obviously the WHOLE company endorses this sort of behavior since FOXnews says so."
You now have the perfect definition of sheeple.

Children and appealing to them is extremely important. The Attitude era may've actually hurt wrestling in some way. The 5 year old kids who may be a little interested in wrestling weren't allowed to watch it in 1998/1999. So when they turn 8 or 9, when they would be really into it, they are no longer into it because they weren't allowed to watch it in the first place.
People may bash childish angles, but how many of the wrestling fans here started watching when they were teenagers. And compare that to how many started when they were really young. People bash Cena relentlessly for only really appealing to kids, but the fact that parents are allowing their kids to watch a guy like John Cena and the fact that he has a lot of hardcore fans now, means in a few years time, they'll start to spend his own money on the product. People make fun of kids constantly, but they could be future hardcore wrestling fans. So John Cena appealing a lot to kids may in reality help wrestling out in the long term future.
Living in the UK for a bit, I know the Sun doesn't have much integrity. But if it is the case that parents don't want to watch the show because of Benoit, it would really hurt the buisness.

The WWE won't care until a poll like this is done for the US. Even then, it still won't matter.

The sun is as tabloid as you could possibly want to get in England (Think FOX News only in paper form and a topless girl on the 3rd page) Thus it's also the most popular.
Mind you it's the only paper that actually covers wrestling in England at all, so take that news with a pinch of salt.

That 61% probably didn't want their kids watching it anyway to begin with.

C'mon folks it's the sun!
I mean they are on a mission to clean up steriods in wrestling.........by running the campaign from their website only, neglecting the whole things in their paper based material which means that most of the people who know of their campaign are probably wrestling fans who are unlikely to defend the use of steriods...........Uh, what was my point?
Seriously though, I bet the WWE is crapping themselves now, they survived a steriod trial but dammit now the sun is on the case!

They were big over it a few weeks back, and they had a small passagew about that wrestler who hung himself over the past week
