I can understand taking one move or something.... .Seriously, no big thing
But stealing KENTAs combo move for move and then using the GTS......
Has anyone else ever done this? Blatantly stealing a ton of moves from one solitary wrestler?
It just seems strange..... Doing the GTS is one thing.... stealing his combo is just strange
Is it just the GTS and combo punches? Maybe Im just looking at this too much.

As much as I agree and blindly dislike Punk.... ...is anyone but me gonna start hating on Burke for stealing Jericho's "Paragon of Virtue" and Scott Hall's entrance walk?

Rock started doing the Sharpshooter, but it made sense cause he did it while he was feuding with You-Know-Who, who picked it up from Bret in WCW. Vince started doing the Stunner to mock Austin. There's no Punk/KENTA connection THAT I KNOW OF.....but then again, I'd be perfectly happy if Joey or Tazz would just be like "Shades of KENTA!" or something like that when Punk does the move, just to credit a guy that 99% of the WWE audience has never heard of. ;D

Also I don't think wrestling moves are copyrighted (The names are but y'know what I mean). |We could spend days on moves ripped off from others. How 'bout HHH - Harley Race? he even took the facial hair! Dastardly!

Usually they just steal one move
If Rock started doing the sharpshooter, figure four on the ringpost, elbow from 2nd rope, spot where Bret hits his chest when running into the ropes, russian leg sweep, and an atomic drop all in one match then I would see him really ripping him off
But its so blatant with CM Punk.... In every match....
Has CM Punk really stolen more then the combo punches and the GTS though?

How 'bout HHH - Harley Race? he even took the facial hair! Dastardly! Well to be fair, JR has made HHH/Race comparisons on the mic before, especially comparing Hunter's kneedrop, I believe, to Race's, and his overall mentality. Usually they just steal one move If Rock started doing the sharpshooter, figure four on the ringpost, elbow from 2nd rope, spot where Bret hits his chest when running into the ropes, russian leg sweep, and an atomic drop all in one match then I would see him really ripping him off But its so blatant with CM Punk.... But now I'm just reaching, cause I really hate Punk.

Look, if Punk didn't respect KENTA, what would be his motivation to keep calling it the Go 2 Sleep? The average mark doesn't know who KENTA is.
If anything, Punk has just incresed KENTA's value and recognition. People will look up the Go 2 Sleep and learn.
Everyone steals from everybody in wrestling. At least Punk doesn't pass it off as his.
DDP stole Foley's kick-reversed-into-spinning-clothesline, as Foley tells in his story. They're friends, so it's sort of an in-joke.

I can't really agree with that, why would they look it up when as far as they know, Punk's the only one thats ever done it so he probably just made it up? And, hell, I have no respect for Billy Kidman, but if I could do a SSP I would.......

It happens in all forms of entertainment, it's just "borrowing". lol There is a difference is doing more than 10 years after the guy when's already a legend but Punk is using KENTA's stuff right now while KENTA is young at this time. What if KENTA ever goes to WWE or TNA? All his stuff has been done. I personally don't think it would affect him cause he's so good.

I don't think Punk's stealing his whole moveset and KENTA didnt invent the combo that ends in the spinning backhand, its been around for years. I'd say 1, 2 moves tops he's stolen outright, the rest are used by others too. I'm a big KENTA mark (NOAH mark in general actually) but it doesn't bother me at all. The only way KENTA will end up in WWE is if the reform Kaientai or Jimmy Wang Yang starts a cowboy posse.
