I think Bruno was in a brief feud with Savage at this point.

The Sammartino-Savage feud with took place after Macho Man injured Ricky Steamboat with the timekeeper's bell. Bruno was offended by the foul play, and when Savage told Bruno in a locker room promo "I'm so happy what I did to him", Bruno got pissed and drove Savage into the wall and pummeled him silly. Then Sammartino wanted Savage to pay dearly, and that's how this steel cage match came about.
Past and future World Champions in a slobberknocker!!!

Bruno was semi-active at this point anyway since he took part in the WM2 Battle Royal a few months prior to this

I think Bruno was in a brief feud with Savage at this point. Yeah, it started when Santana was facing Savage w/Sanmartino as the special ref on the May 86 show, Adonis runs in for the DQ and a brawl ensues. The following month, it's a tag match which Savage/Adonis win by countout, which leads to the cage match.

First show looks good. Second show doesn't.
I've seen that cage match and it's a really good one. Adonis takes some good bumps. Not like Mick Foley off course but for such a fat slopper, Adonis was quite a good worker.
