I was there when Kevin Nash debut on Nitro. I'll count that as a promo.
Match? A battle royal to an early 90s WWE House Show I went too. A lot of awesome moments. My favorite was when Yokozuna accidentally tripped and fell onto Nash/Diesel. It's the loudest I've ever heard anyone scream.

Best Promo/Skit: I was at the Raw that the second skit in the Rock/Hurricane fued happened. I believe that was also Jeff Hardy's last Raw before he left. Anyways, the crowd loved the skit, thought it was the funniest shit ever.

I was there for Jericho's 1004 holds promo. Unfortunately it was the same night as one of the Hogan/Piper windsuckers.

I saw a really good Jericho vs. RVD match at a Raw I went to. And I saw Kane tombstone Shane Mcmahon on the steps at the same show.

The best for me isn't a promo or match.
It's everytime during Owen's big mid 90's heel run they would run shows in canada and he would always get the biggest pop of the night. Canadian fans loved him. Didn't ever matter if he was a heel or a face. Which was cool to see back in the more kayfabe-ish era

Best match would either be Taker/Angle 2 on SD last year or Jericho/Cena at Summerslam.
Promo was actually not one that aired live, but was when the Rock returned during the invasion. After RAW went of the air, The Rock basically cut a huge 20 minute promo that was amazing.

I was at Royal Rumble 2005.
So I'll say the Royal Rumble match, and the "NO.</tomko>" promo

For best Promo I'd say KOTR 1996 when Stone Cold beat Jake the Snake in the finals and "Austin 3:16" was born (It's pretty exciting for me to be able to say I witnessed true wrestling history when one of the true megastars of pro wrestling got his big break )

Most exciting match for me live: Goldberg d. Hogan for the WCW Championship on Nitro in the Georgia Dome.
Best promo: Possibly the Bret Hart return speech on Nitro following the death his brother, also at the Georgia Dome.

For me, it has to be in '98 when X-Pac returned to DX the night after WrestleMania 14. Despite my utter hatred for the guy now, this was when I could stand him a little more. And as a pro-WWF fan then, it was great to hear what he had to say about Bischoff, Hogan, and the Outsiders. This being before in got into reading NEWZ!1! sites, and it was an absolute shock.
