What were some moments in wrestling history that were meant to serve as comic relief, and actually work? Whether they were joke matches or backstage skits.
A couple examples I enjoyed were the Rock's interaction with the Hurricane and the Showster.
Give us some more, folks.

There are way to many examples to list. Almost all of the Rock/Foley stuff did around the Rock n' Sock Connection days. The recently inducted Super Hero in Training stuff with Rosey and the Hurricane to me was pretty funny. The DX parody of the Nation. The Dating Game was awesome last week (Santino Marella was great).

Pretty much any time Ron Simmons comes out and earns his pay on RAW.
Seriously, not only does it get me every time, but it's usually the biggest reaction of the night amongst the live crowd, too.
I credit Simmons' tremendous facial expressions and neat, bass-heavy voice.

DX and Cryme Tyme. Triple H's lines "I thought he had a gun" and at the end of the segment "For shizzle" were classic.
Carlito and Masters locking Kane in the room, and then Big Show pushing the forklift out of the way.

Anything with Rock and Foley was comic gold. They had this timing that when they worked together it was like if George Carlin and Richard Pryor got into a comic duel, and they'd keep you laughing until there was a winner.
The Dating Game sketch was the first time I really laughed my ass off in a long time... Ron Simmons is always good for a laugh.

one Summerslam where Regal and the Rock where talking and I think Shawn Sasiack or Chuck Pulumbo come out of no-where and miss the Rock by a mile and like... hits the wall and Regal and Rock give this "WTF?!" look.

Somewhere around Kurt vs. Edge in the Hair vs. Hair match, right around the time that "You Suck" became standard for Kurt Angle's music. Edge had a bunch of pictures for Kurt and on the back (which we saw) were messages, one which showed an arrow to Kurt's crotch and said "PS I have no testicles..." or something to that effect.

The Trial of Eric Bischoff. Underrated, but arguably the funniest segments that the WWE has produced since the end of the Attitude Era. It was comedic brilliance on everyone's part, from Foley to McMahon to Maria to Tajiri.
