I'm watching the Raw show from 7/30, paying attention to Cody Rhodes vs. Shawn Daivari.
Suddenly I realized, the kid is smurfing great! And he's only going to get better.
Cody's is a solid move set: he throws realistic looking punches, he knows the DDT, always sees his opening for a bulldog, sudden belly to belly suplex, and the kid can pier-six brawl if he's pissed off.
Let's rally behind Cody Rhodes, The Future.
He has The People cheering, and his bloodline dictates that he be at or near the top at all times.
Cody has been around the sport since he was in diapers. He remembers his dad coming home all bruised but unbowed. The great Dusty Rhodes putting food on the table and providing a fine example.
His brother Goldust saw fame and championships too.
Give him Maryse as his valet, and hand him a title already.
And make it snappy, while we're young, please!

Please tell me the winking face next to the title of this thread means this is pure, grade-A sarcasm?
Seriously, the kid is lanky as all hell. Put some meat on his bones, then we'll talk turkey.
But could he be great? Yeah. That match against Daivari was good. But he needs some serious charisma classes.

Like I said, no joke. I know wrestling and Cody is like young Jimi Hendrix looking at a guitar for the first time.

I think he has potential to be something big if he's brought along the right way.
The charisma thing is something he can work on (Randy Orton when he first came in had the same issue)

The great Dusty Rhodes putting food on the table and providing a fine example. There's a joke in there about "Dusty Rhodes" and "food on the table", but I can't pinpoint it.

I love his entrance music it's so addictive and i love his attitude towards the sport he is actually getting in their and having a go unlike Batista or Cena who just do 5 / 6 moves and walk out i love rhodes atittude as well he is hanging with Randy orton and i think they one day might create a faction they both have the EYE for wrestling very cunning like and i like it.

Wait a minute.....aren't you the guy who told me that you would bet your house that Salvatore Sincere was going to be the next big thing in the WWE? Well, guess what! I followed your advice, and let's just say, I haven't seen that house since 1996.

I think Cody Rhodes should have Paul Pfifer as a tag team partner, and he should have Winnie Cooper as a valet. His theme music will be "Whaaat would you do if I sang out of tune". Daniel Stern could supply the commentary for his matches. It should be Khosrow Daivari. He was never called Shawn Daivari in WWE, though I think it's his real name.

I want him as far away from me as possible.

When Cody is all said and done, then you can joke.

The charisma thing is something he can work on (Randy Orton when he first came in had the same issue) Wrong Randy Orton came into WWE with great charisma. That was all squandered by WWE giving him a lame legend killer gimmick. We were all hyped for Orton just via a few vignettes of him spouting I'm 99% full power before he debutted.
