Why do you watch?
It's really surreal - it's like going to a NFL message board where half the posters talk about how much they hate the NFL, and that college football is way better.
I realize there can be individual things that any person might not be a fan of. But everything the WWE does seems to get crapped on by at least 50% of the posters here. (And for some events, like Cena winning a match, it's more like 80%).

So they can come here, complain, share the same opinion of others and feel accepted as part of society in some fashion, even if it is the internet.

I'm not a Cena hater, and I barely watch. I like Cena, I just think that him with the title is getting tired. I've not ranted about him on this level since I first saw him on my TV in about 2006, on my return to fandom, and that's only because both then and this time I actually paid money for a PPV.

I don't hate the WWE, in fact I love the WWE but some things just really really get on my nerves. It's like a marriage.

I don't hate WWE as a whole I just hate the Main event scene Other than ECW agreed. I was finally excited for a RAW main event for once and they went and killed it off in one fell swoop. Now it back to skipping the last few minutes of RAW for Futurama and MNF.

Whoa, I have never ever seen this thread before!!!1!1! it could possibly be because there are aspects we enjoy that keep us watching, even though the overall product is pretty much garbage right now. Thats just a guess though, cause I actually stopped watching, I just enjoy discussing.

It's like video games
In both situations there are times that it's frustrating because you want things to go another way, and you hate to give up on it because you have hope.

For me, it's because I'm a fan of certain performers, not of the company. I hate WWE with a passion, but I love Londrick, CM Punk, World's Greatest Tag Team, etc. Only place I can see them, unfortunately, is WWE.
As of right now though, I'll catch their matches online as I'm done tuning in. Sitting through alot of garbage just to see one performer isn't worth it anymore.

Well if you're like me, you grew up with it in the 80s and you loved it but stopped watching when it started sucking around 93. After a four year hiatus you start hearing rumblings that's it's getting better so you tune back and see the greatest 3 years of wrestling ever so now, even though it sucks you stick with it hoping it' gets better because it's been in a slump before.
After tonight though when one of the premiere PPV's is absolute garbage you stop trashing it and simply say goodbye.

So they can come here, complain, share the same opinion of others and feel accepted as part of society in some fashion, even if it is the internet. Fascinating. So, then explain this to me. I've been a fan of this business my whole life. I will watch whatever I can get my hands on, because I will admit it, I have the sickness. It doesn't matter that it's looked down on by a lot of people, I love it. However, if, in the course of watching, I'm not entertained by something, you're statement seems to say that I, as a loyal viewer of all things wrestling, should either automatically like what is presented as "cool" or I somehow forfeit all rights to comment when some aspect of the overall product doesn't appeal to me. By that standard, since we're all wrestling fans here, one thing can revoke our priviledge so to speak. That's like saying, if we were all talking about our favorite restuarant, but maybe the "specialty" dish they offered didn't appeal to many of us, we shoudln't say "hey, I don't like that dish, but this other menu item is fantastic". There will always be things in WWE programming (or wrestling programming in general) that appeal to some, but not everyone. Thing is, if I, as a consumer, don't like something, but am constantly told "this is the BEST THING YOU'LL EVER SEE", do I not have a right to say that I, in fact, don't believe them? Does it take away my ability to find other aspects of programming that I do enjoy, that does keep me coming back? Of course not. It's all a matter of taste. As long as there is something I can sit and enjoy on the program, I will watch. Just because it doesn't happen to be the one thing I am told is "the most important" doesn't change that fact.

It just can be booked alot better. I been watching since 1982 and wrestling is just something I have always watched threw the very good and the very very bad.
I don't hate it, I just don't watch it as much, I don't buy the ppv's they haven't earned my money. The shows i haven't watched an whole raw in 5 months or so.
Only show i have really enjoyed lately is ecw and the saturday nights main event was very well booked and was fun.
This on going product isn't fun and I like i said don't watch that much anymore.

That is the one question that has always eluded me as well. If I don't like what the WWE is doing, I change the channel and watch something else. I think people just like to draw attention to themselves. They'll tell you that if they don't complain, then the WWE will never change their ways. And they'll tell you that it's freedom of speech so therefore they can say whatever they want. And that's fine. I respect that. But when it's all said and done people, it's entertainment. They're producing entertainment. If it doesn't entertain you, move along and find entertainment in something else. It's a very simple concept. But I'll sit back and wait for somebody to rip me a new one for making a valid point. So you have to like the entire show? No matter how crappy an angle or a wrestler is, you have to sit their with a crap eating grin and enjoy all of it, or change the channel and watch none of it, including the parts you might enjoy? Wow, that doesn't make sense to me, but since you told me it was a valid point, I am forced to agree with it. *edit* HA! Way to stand by your silly statement. Deleting posts is for wussies. I stand by everything I ever say, no matter how assinine!

Um, people watch because they like wrestling, but Vince drove all of his competitors out of business, and WWE comprises 83% of the wrestling product on national television in the U.S.?
To use your analogy, it would be more like people griping about the NFL on a football message board, but there was only one college football game on every weekend, and it stinks too. But those people still really liked football, so they basically have no choice but to...
1. Watch the NFL no matter how much it sucks. 2. Try to enjoy the one college football game, even though it sucks, too, and features some guys not even good enough for the NFL. 3. Order low-rent looking DVDs of college football and high school games.
That's one reason so many people watch gripe about WWE.

Wow, that doesn't make sense to me, but since you told me it was a valid point, I am forced to agree with it. That didn't take long. The thing about the remote control is that it allows to change the channel back and forth at any given moment you choose. For example, if let's say there's a Snitsky match and I don't wanna watch it, I'll change the channel to Monday Night Football. Then ten minutes later, I'll go back and let's say it's a Vince McMahon promo and maybe I'll keep it on until the commercial break. The WWE will NEVER change their ways. If people constantly complain about it, then why bother watching it? It gets to a point where I find this stuff just sad. I cannot fathom why some of you people get so wound up in all of something that's sole purpose is to entertain you. At some point, if all it does is piss you off, then maybe you need to find another promotion to watch. EDIT: I deleted my initial post because, well, quite frankly, I don't come here to have arguments over predetermined events. I knew people would jump on it like a piranha.
