No. Nitro has 0 heat. What has Nitro done to make people want to hate him? Be a heel? "Oh he's a heel. Boo that guy!" At least Michaels had that whole throw someone through a window thing to get heat. What were they supposed to do? It's not like the crowd had any sympathy for Mercury. If he turned on him, the crowd would of just cheered.

He could be the next HBK ...
If he gets a total personality transplant, learns how to sell (how can you forget someone working your leg FIVE SECOND AGO?!?), and can generate some real heel heat that isn't just based on being pushed as a heel.
Jed Shaffer ~So, in other words, no, he isn't.

Yeah, he needs to learn to work the crowd more but at least he's trying which is more than I can say for certain hosses that don't know where the camera is (pick your decade).

Nitro turned on Mercury and the crowd cheered some of it. Exactly. They want him to be heel, so that's not the reaction he's supposed to be getting.

There's a lot of people that think Nitro will be the next big thing. I'm starting to agree

There is no 'next HBK'.
Just like there's no next Rock, or Hogan, or Austin.

I hope Johny eclipses HBK someday. Will it happen? I don't know. He's good. Always getting better.

Bear with me a minute and give this a chance before you get out the tar and feathers (or the butterfly net and strait jacket), please. Consider some of the similarities between Nitro and Michaels: -Both use pretty-boy, chick-magnet, "sexy" heel gimmicks. -Both first became prominent as half of a tag team. (MNM and The Rockers, respectively.) -Both had tag team partners who disappeared from the WWF/WWE and had substance abuse problems. (Joey Mercury and Marty Janetty, resectively.) -Both have had high-profile female managers. (Melina and Sherri Martel, respectively.) -Both have at one point in their careers used the Superkick as a significant part of their moveset. -Both have long hair and sunglasses as part of their look (Shawn used to have those little round shades in his early days.) -Both have been linked to backstage politics. (OK, I admit this one is pushing it because The Kliq worked in Shawn's favor whereas Nitro was supposedly being held back because of Melina's rumored nuclear heat, but still.) Anybody want to jump on this bandwagon or at least give me credit for the effort? If I wasn't generally apathetic about pro wrestling right now, I think I would become the board's #1 Nitro mark. It's not that he's that great right now (and I can't say I approve of his taste in women), but there's a lot of potential there. And heck, somebody has to take his side against the army of Punk fanboys here. (No offense.) Put a mic in front of either man. Nitro is not the next HBK. More than half of making it in the WWE is your mic work. Nitro is the worst. Stick him with a valet that does the talking for him? Fine. But Shawn Michaels didn't need a mouthpiece.

But Sherrie was just that. She drew his charisma out and made his character even bigger, she did play a role in him not needing a mouth piece later on down the road. C'mon dude, I know you know this!

If Nitro's the new HBK, I'd hate to be anyone who's ever beaten him cleanly. He's got alot of returned favors coming his way. That's the HBK way.

He's not the new HBK, but could be a valuable performer in his own right.

Just want to say that if he had turned on Joey while his face was busted, now that would have gotten some heat. They wasted so many good storylines that could have come from that injury, and it's not like they gave him time off for it anyway. *Until his release.

HBK has more charisma in his pinky than Nitro has in his entire body. even the tight abs.

This is a bad epidemic in ALL of entertainment, not just wrestling. Everyone aspires to be the "next"(name of past big star here). But why would you wanna do that? Why not be your own guy? Look at rock music, everyone wants to be next Black Sabbath and now you just got a bunch of annoying bands. Paraphrasing an old quote I once heard... "He shouldn't concentrate on being the "next HBK" he should worry about being the FIRST "Johnny Nitro"".

Is Nitro really that bad on the mic? I mean he's not good. But people are calling Randy Orton good these days; is Nitro really that bad?
