So Carlito had the NO DQ clause all to himself. Why didn't he just go crazy on HHH? Like what HHH did to Umaga? Then have another PPV match, but let it be a street fight and have HHH win. It would have given Carlito the rub, while making HHH look strong for beating him in the future, and the two could have continued into a nice feud.

That's pretty much what I said in the "Triple H burial" thread. It didn't make any sense for Triple H to go over in that match since they're apparently continuing the feud.

Then I agree with both of you. I thought the title was a question, and I was going to say the same thing.

Stupid stipulations
It's obviously telling the fans that Carlito isn't good enough to beat him on his own
On top of that, Triple H "overcomes the odds"

I think it could've made good booking sense if Carlito won and then Triple H later got his revenge.

The only way they know how to push Triple H is as an unstoppable force. He has to run roughshod over every one in his path, physically and promo wise. No one is allowed to get any heat on him, he always has to look strong. They tried to make him a normal heal in 2002-2003, but since the Eugene feud its been unstoppable Triple H all the time. He put over Batista, but he showed no weakness, Batista was just stronger. He put over Cena, but did he really? Who really came out better in that feud?
This is not Triple H bashing, although I am sure he and his wife have more than a little to do with this. It is a major flaw with the booking and creative teams.

Because London was smiling, Triple H did a precautionary measure.

As I said in the "Triple H beating Carlito" thread, Carlito didn't need to win the match, but it would've helped if he looked like he had a daggone chance.
Have Triple H start the match dominating as most good guys tend to do. Carlito resorts to a low-blow to gain control before getting some weapons and bringing down the pain on Trips. Trips keeps having moments of fighting back but Carlito cuts him off everything with a trash can lid or chair or something.
Finally, Carlito gets frustrated that he can't put Triple H away, so after another 2-Count, he gets up and punches the ref (He can't get DQed and he's frustrated. He might as well). This allows Triple H to grab a chair and nail him, giving Trips the momentum to start his comeback (as another referee arrives) and win like he did the other night.
Honestly, it's wrestling 101. To go into the "terms": The Face Shines. The Heel cuts him off and builds heat. The Face gets a few hope spots to remind people that he has heart and it's going to take a lot to stop him. Heel continues to build heat. Heel makes a mistake. Face starts the comeback. They go back and forth for one last time, and the Face wins in the end.
What we got instead was Triple H embarassing Carlito at every single turn. Carltio couldn't even properly bring a weapon into the ring. Finally Carlito uses a weapon, but it doesn't matter because Triple H gets an advantage on him again.
Sidenote, the whole Abdominal Stretch thing was just twilight zone-ish. If the crowd was supposed to cheer Triple H grabbing the ropes, they must have been too busy watching him do it to care.
Let's not forget the ending where Carlito blinds Triple H with powder, but within thirty seconds, Trips was back on top and into his final array of moves ensuring that no one could think of Carlito as anything other than a midcarder.
Those saying "Good! He is a midcarder!" are missing the point. WWE needs new stars. The suspensions and injurys left them dry and all they're doing is feeding the young guys to whatever established guy is around.
Don't even get me started on last night...

So now we have footage of Carlito kept down by The Man. Maybe this was done with an eye towards a WWE tour of Puerto Rico, where Carlito will shine of course. He'll pin H, but due to "technical difficulties" the cameras won't capture it for the rest of the world to see. We won't hear about it stateside unless one of our cousins calls us.
Also, at the same time WWE scouts can observe the local World Wrestling Council talent. Make sense?
