youtube.com/watch?v=Dd-a2ID2SVU&mode=related&search=i forgot how awesome the Ecw arena was. The crowd just made ECW and made this match. Could you imagine every match in the ECW arean... the show on ecw would be 10 times better.... I know the new ECW is nothing like this ECW... but the crowd and the whole atmosphere just makes normal matches that much more exciting!

I wish WWE would run shows at the Hammerstein again, but it's very doubtful especially after Batista got booed out of the facility and had his feelings hurt.

Well Batista's feelings are a top priority I think, so well done to Vinny Mac.

Hopefully ECW will eventually get their own tapings.

Ahh...the match that made me realise just how good Cena is.
Nothing like a "Same old ****" chant at John Cena...especially considering the fact that he's facing Rob Van Dam.
Hammerstein: The Loudest Hypocrits in the World.

This match just goes to show how good of a performer Cena is. He's getting booed out of the arena, fans are chanting "f*** you Cena", and "Same old shit", and Cena's not rattled. He just goes about the match, and it's not bothering him.
And then like someone mentioned earlier, you have Batista. He gets pissed that he's getting booed, and it obviously rattled him.
Cena's got that confidence, that when the fans are booing him he won't get thrown off his game. Yes, I am a fan of Cena.

Eh, I always enjoy those reactions. The passionate audience is what I miss about ECW the most. WWECW never stood a chance taping in front of kids in Rey Mysterio masks.

Ironically enough, this match made me appreciate Cena. He went in as the top face in the company, and gets booed out of the building, but takes it all in stride. He never let it bother him that he was being booed, and just went with it.
This showed why the company has so much faith in him. He can go with whatever the situation calls for. I think that very few have ever had that quality where they can shake it up on the fly.
With that said, I'm still not a big fan of his character.

Plenty of the hardcore Philly fans attended both ONS ppv's. The spirit of the ECW crowd was certainly present although its collective hatred for Cenamania took center stage. And for the damn record, New York is the best crowd period. Whatever event it is.

I really wish ECW would tape their shows in this building every week, and have something like what they used to have there. It sucks that WWE is afraid that the guys they want to push there would get those kind of responses.
And while some would be justified, others wouldn't. Like, Mike Knox might get that, but he wouldn't deserve it (though I really enjoyed the match they had the nigh Batista got booed with Test & Knox vs Sandman & Dreamer).

ECW wrestler Buh Buh Ray Dudley is actually a New Yawka. Ever since dropping his stuttering act in both WWF and ECW, his New York accent clearly shows.

I have to agree, and I am completely unbiased (shifty eyes). But since we're a wrestling forum: - Remember Royal Rumble 2000? When Bob Backlund was a surprise entrant? No crowd would have popped like New York for a Bob Backlund entrance. And in 2007, I'm fairly sure that ONLY New York would pop for him at all. - Goldberg-Lesnar. This match is immortalized because of the crowd. In fact, the only reason you'll find this on WWE 24/7 is because my fair city took a huge dump on both performers. ...I should be working now. You get the picture, folks. What I'm trying to say is a high-spirited crowd makes every match seem better. The crowd is part of the show, and to overlook some of the most active crowds is bad business.

The East Coast has to have the most passioniate wrestling fans in the country. It goes general tri-state area (NJ, Philly, NYC) then I think Canada in terms of how aggressive and into the product the fans are. There's nothing wrong with what we do, we just enjoy the product that much more and expect more than the rest of the country/world.

WWE and WCW crowds are usually entertained, but when watching the old ECW-that was something different alltogether. It made me smile just to see an ECW audience-and that will never be replicated in quite the same way because, even though it was a business, you didn't get the sense that it was in the way the WWE is

This match just goes to show how good of a performer Cena is. He's getting booed out of the arena, fans are chanting "smurf you Cena", and "Same old crap", and Cena's not rattled. I'm definitely not a John Cena fan, but I'm also man enough to put him over when he deserves it. I don't think he could have possibly gone into that match expecting anything BUT to get booed out of the building, so he played the heel just as he should have. I think he's a fantastic performer. He's just not a great wrestler. Batista, on the other hand, seems to have one hell of an inflated head, which is why he took his ball and went home like a spoiled little kid. I'll take John Cena over Batista any day.
