I totally agree... I mean, I never said the whole "I'm never going to watch again" thing... I just guess I lost some interest, although I still like plenty of the product. But something like this would really shake things up... let's just say that if it was done right, I don't think it would LOSE any viewers, but it might GAIN some. same here. i never said "eff this! i'm not watching WWE again cause it suxorz and TNA roolz!" its just that after weeks of the same shit, it just didnt appeal to me anymore. thats the funny thing... the difference, if you will... between WWE and ROH. ROH is still such a small company that they seem to care about each individual fan. they can listen to the voices of the fans and cater to that... WWE cannot, since they're such a huge company. they've got voices telling them something different and its gotta sound like a bunch of white noise to mcmahon. but if they managed to do something to the effect of this... something that really keeps fans captivated... something to draw attention to something serious and seemingly "real". something that plays to an emotion as opposed to playing to a joke (like the hornswoggle angle) then it would give me reason to watch again. and thats not a bad thing... it's a good thing *ddp smile*

They need an edge, and this could provide that edge.

Here's my take:
Weeks pass and every monday night similar but cryptic videos are shown. Each weeks video is darker than the last as they take the form of Wyoming Incident type vignettes. They basically have the same message, a call for help, for some one to come save "Us", give them guidance.
"Us" will be revealed on the RAW after Cyber Sunday. 4 guys dressed in black with white face masks (ala The Carver in Nip Tuck). They reveal themselves to be C.M. Punk (who I imagine has dropped the ECW title to the returning John Morrison), Shannon Moore, Paul London & Brian Kendrick and They say that looking to form a resistance against WWE and it's current ownership and want to break down the boundaries that have been set up by the roster split. All four state that they have been screwed over by the current WWE regime/Roster Split and held back as a result.
They state that WWE needs to be saved and they will be the ones to do it under the guidance of their leader, who is yet to be revealed.
At Survivor Series, The four are in an elimination match against 3 faces. It's down to Punk against one face, next fall wins the match. Just when it looks as if punk is gonna lose, Moore and Londrick come out and beat down the face.
The lights then go out and the Undertaker comes down to reveal himself as the leader of the New Ministry proclaiming that "the dark days of the WWE have begun".
This would allow for the possibility of Taker as WWE champ. CM Punk or Moore as Interconinental Champ and Londrick as Tag Champs.....

I would totally love that, although I don't really like the idea of it as a new Ministry, and think that the 'Taker would overshadow it all - apart from that... I love it.

I will be looking back at a major disappointment filled with ha-larious comedy skits since that's all WWE wants to do nowadays.

That's fine, as I've now seen that some posters can look beyond the product that the WWE is currently producing to see that there could be a prospect for something else. I don't care about negativity now... I've found the real WC board.

Well, think of it this way: if it is Jericho, you didn't know who it was, nor did anyone else. It's just a lot of us correctly guessed it was him.

Well, think of it this way: if it is Jericho, you didn't know who it was, nor did anyone else. It's just a lot of us correctly guessed it was him. yeah, but at the moment, that is the only logical person (see the "save us jericho" sign. wwe wouldn't put that on air for no reason), so if it was him, i would still love it, but i would rather he just appears out of the blue, just like in his debut. if it was someone as awesome a jericho, but who no one would suspect, like paul heyman or RVD or someone, the that would be better. the worst thing they could do would be having the vignettes reveal who it is. if i'm gonna see chris jericho return, i don't want him to come back in a vignette. both triple h and undertaker would've benefitted more from a surprise run in than weeks of hype, if you ask me. and i hope it is something "edgy". wwe has been playing it safe recently, not really going that far from the box, so as not to offend anyone. taking risks is what creates great moments. what if wwe thought that having a hcaracter assulting his boss, all while drinking heavily, would be a bad influence on viewers? that's what's been happening recently. john cena gets over massively, but they water him down by stopping him swearing, stopping the innuendo-laden raps, and making him a "family-friendly champ" with no gimmick. this could be great, but it could also be the biggest disappointment ever. i'm being optimistic for the moment, but i can't say i fully trust wwe not to screw this up.

I meant to do this this morning, but actualwork can be a pain.
I hate to guess what 222 will wind up being in full, but I think it would be really cool if it wound up being something like this:
WWE No Mercy 2007. John Cena and Randy Orton are in the midst of their last man standing match. They're beating the absolute crap out of each other. Suddenly, the blue matrixy-screen pops up, the lights go dark, and out comes a returning Chris Jericho. He comes into the ring, lays out both Cena and Orton, and neither one stands for a ten count. The referee declares a draw, and Jericho takes the microphone to a chorus of boos. He announces that he's here to save the WWE from itself once again, and that he's sick and tired of the monotony and garbage that populates the top of the roster. He announces his intentions to win the WWE title, and he announces that he's recruiting those who think like him to join him and save wrestling.
He mostly recruits the smaller guys who can wrestle - people like Londrick, CM Punk, hell, maybe Shelton Benjamin or Elijah Burke, and he sets about his mission of taking the WWE Title and changing the WWE. He takes on faces and heels and takes them all out as unworthy. He doesn't necessarily cheat to win, either. He outclasses them.
Cena, well into month fourteen as champion, ignores the requests to fight Jericho. Meanwhile, Y2J is picking up steam, he's getting cheered. London and Kendrick win the WWE titles from HHH and Shawn Michaels (who win it from Cade and Murdoch) cleanly (yeah, I know, snowball's chance but I can dream). And Jericho, despite the cards being stacked against him and despite catching hell from Vince McMahon - wins the Royal Rumble. WrestleMania 24, it's Cena v. Jericho, and after the match of Cena's life, Jericho wins. He spends six months with the title, fending off everyone. He feuds mostly with Triple H and HBK for six months, until John Cena, who has spent the last six months chasing the title but out of the spotlight, beats him in the return match at Summer Slam 2008. And instead of the chorus of boos that follows the inevitable Cena win, the crowd actually applauds and all is more or less righted.

See, I know people see the standard fans as eejit marks, but I don't see why this wouldn't get over. Y'know what people like? Compelling TV - 24, Heroes, Lost etc. all prove this. Despite the prevailing attitude, people across the spectrum LIKE to be challenged. So... challenge them, like Mr. Mediocre just did.
