Alright
Thinking of going to Wrestlemania this year as part of a tour around America. Few questions to make the trip to Wrestlemania cheaper...
- Anyone know the difference between gold/silver/ringside seating?
- Can I purchase a ticket to that Midday Madness thing without getting into that 'Wrestlemania Package' thing?
- Is it worth flying to USA a week before WM to 'get the atmosphere'?
Here's the topic about this that happened a while ago:(http://officialfan.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=WWE&action=display&thread=1185764422&page=2)
Here's my old post on it:
Well they should be on WWE.com(and I think they were already). For some people that have ordered them before, we got first dibs ahead of time(back in June/Early July).
Gold is not ringside. Platinum is ringside. Keep in mind that ringside is within the first 5 rows. I'd reccomend not getting anything before gold, because they are going to be on the field, and combined with fans taking pictures, standing, and signs, it will be harder to see.
I think the package structure is something like this:
$800-$1300(I forget the prices)platinum = ringside WM tix(rows 1-5), a WM chair, hall of fame(better seats too), mid day madness, 2 day pass to universal, 3 days at a hotel(but they do not gurantee beds or (smoking/non smoking rooms), as last year if it wasn't for a good samaritan switching rooms, I would have had to sleep in the same bed as my mom). Last year there was also a breakfast deal where wrestlers answered questions, but I don't think that's happening this year.
$750 or so - gold = seats around rows 5-10, No WM chair, seats further back at the hall of fame, and the rest is the same as platinum.
Minnesota Recking Crew already mentioned the silver package.
Keep in mind they do not provide transportation to the events going on, so be prepared to get a taxi/subway. You shouldn't need a rental car unless you want to make a trek over to ROH or FCW, who would have to be boneheads to not run.
Oh, and the meet and greet with the stars(called Mid-day madness) really sucks IMO. None of the stars want to be there, they(the security) rush you through meeting the stars, and scream at you to hurry up. Also, they have different sessions, so you don't know who will be there. There's no rhyme or rhythym to who you get, no matter what package you get. I've gotten to meet stinkers like joy giavanni, and the closest to main event guys I've met is Kane and Booker(before he got the king gimmick). Some people said they got to meet Cena though. All of the big stars are usually out at some store to sign stuff(HBK was at a bookstore), but these places are usually 30+ minutes out of the area, and unless you know where you are going it can be tricky.
Last year at the meet and greet I met: Miz, Carlito, Nitro, Dykstra, Tazz, Coach, Maria, Sandman, Eugene, Sylvan and maybe 1-2 more that I can't remember. Not exactly main event talent. The year before I think I met, Victoria, Matt Hardy, Booker/Sharmell, and some others. At the WM 21 midday madness I met Kane, Regal, Tajiri, Joy Giavanni, Tazz, and others. But if I can't remember them, they couldn't have been too great. You also don't have much time to meet everybody, and will be waiting in line for atleast an hour to get to meeting people.
All in all, you can get everything without the package, except for the midday madness, it's just easier to do it through WWE. It's around the same price(as I've done all this on my own booking) if you don't go with the package, just you won't get good seats(which you always do with WWE). WWE is not that responsive about questions though, and generally don't seem to care much about any problems, as there's no one to talk to.
By the way, Disney is around 30 minutes away from the Universal area that everything takes place in. The good news is that Disney will be empty.
Sorry for the long post, but that should cover everything. If anyone would like to know more, please feel free to message me, and I will do my best to answer your questions.
You don't need to fly in a week before, unless you want to go to Disney world, which I highly reccomend you do. There might be superstars appearing around the area, but other than that, until friday/saturday nothing is happening except for maybe a press conference on a Tuesday.
