So my fellow crappers what is the defining match that you watched as a youngster that gave you the pro wrestling "bug". For me it was
Clash of the Champions VI - Flair vs. Steamboat
I remember watching this with my brother and being in awe. I thought these guys were true to life superheros. I was 4 years old at the time, and from then on, while everyone else obsessed over comic book heroes I was captivated by these giant men and flashy performers...

WCW Saturday Night- Cactus Jack vs. ?
I just remember seeing Cactus hit the Upside Down Cactus Jack Crack Smash(running front somersault off the ring apron, by the way) on some poor soul of a jobber, and I was hooked on wrestling, and Foley, for life.

sadly, the first segment of wrestling I ever watched was when Val Venis yelled at Trish, thus breaking off their manager/client relationship.

RVD vs Jerry Lynn from Hardcore Heaven '99. To this day it still ranks as pretty much my favorite match ever.

Hogan Vs. Warrior, I remember watching a tape of this when I was 2 years old and have been watching wrestling ever since.

Sadly I can't remember. I had been watching wrestling on and off for years since I was really little, but it was never a serious interest. Then around 97-98, I started watching it a lot more and was more drawn in. Pulling for Goldberg to lose his streak was one of the big things I remember from back then. God I wanted him to lose so bad.
And actually come to think about it, the match the truly got me hooked for good may have been that DDP/Goldberg match from Halloween Havoc 1998. One of my biggest mark out moments ever was when Page his the diamond cutter and i thought he was going to beat him.

WM 1 was the first show I ever saw...pretty much all the hype and the whole card hooked me. No one particular match although my clearest memory is Andre vs. Studd in the Slam match.

I don't remember the first match that got me hooked. So therefore I'll post my TNA and ROH matches.
ROH: CM Punk VS Samoa Joe II (this turned me into a Joe and Punk mark)
TNA: I think it was AJ Styles vs RODDDDDDDDDDDDDERICK

Cactus Jack vs HHH, Royal Rumble 2000. So you can hardly blame me.

I can't really say what gave me the bug when I was younger, but what really gave me the bug when I really and for serious got into wrestling...was The Rock vs. Mr. Ass in the Kiss My Ass match from Summerslam '99.
...Of course I'm not kidding.

Oh and for hooking me in to non-mainstream wrestling, it was the Punk/Aries ROH World Title match from Death Before Dishonor III. The infamous heel turn match. Unbelievable.

fist match that got me hooked on ROH was I guess a very appropriate match. The main event of the very first show(Daniels vs. Danielson vs. Low Ki). Probably still, after 3 or so years after seeing it, it still stands up as the best 3-way I've ever seen

Lord Steven Regal vs. Dean Malenko on WCW Saturday Night. Tons of reversals and submissions, I'd only seen a couple of matches before this, and wasn't really a fan. It took some actually good wrestling to get me to keep coming back.

Bret Hart v. Roddy Piper at WM8. I was 8 years old at the time and caught the bug during that match.
The spark was truly re-ignited in April at Fighting Spirit in ROH: Nigel McGuinness v. Takeshi Morishima.
For the record, I only got into ROH in February, with FYF: Philly being my first show (I've been to five total, with Saturday's Philly show being the most recent...and Danielson-McGuinness was the best match I have ever seen, TV, internet, live, or otherwise.)

So...did you 'put out'? What hooked me...1979...Indianapolis, Indiana...King Kong (Bruiser) Brody vs Dick The Bruiser. Brody looked like the ultimate monster, and had me believing that he was really going to not only destroy every wrestler in the promotion, but every WWA fan, and only Dick The Bruiser had a chance to stop him...but just barely. I had nightmares for days about Brody breaking into our house and tossing everyone around. I miss kayfabe.

Bret/Hennig from Summerslam 91, on video. I was slowly making the transition into a full fan around mid 1992 and I threw a random wrestling tape in with my other rentals during my weekly Blockbuster allowance trip. When I watched it, I thought, "I like this Bret cat, he's got more 'finesse' than how Hogan's winning".

Don't remember...
I liked Inoki and Mimi Hagiwara when I was like 3-4, but I don't remember a match that made me think "ok, I'll watch catch (that was the name back then) every time it'll be on". When WWF began getting proper airtime, with a regular schedule, it was only natural following every day/week.
