I missed Impact last week. so I go over to the tv reports on pwtorch and try and catch up with what happened. So after a PPV with a reverse ladder match(aka king of the mountain match) with penelty boxes and convoluted rules I read a report about matches leading up to the next ppv that reads like stereo instructions. So here is what from the descriptions given in the report.
All the titles will be defend on Impact over the next month. however some singles titles will be defended in tag matches. This leads up to samoa joe winning the X division title in a tag team match or some complicated crap like that. Next week there is a three way dance for the world title(at least that is a perty strait forward match). Somehow out of all these matches will #1 contenders will be decided on or are these matches leading up to a match where only champions face ecah other(and if thats the case what is the title or titles being defended in that match). Could someone please explain this series of matches and the ultimate goal of them to me?
TNA has some awesome wrestlers in the company yet instead of excelent tag and singles matches with nice concise storylines we get more complicated, overthought matches and stroylines. I just wish TNA would give me simpler storylines with great wrestling to back them up.

At the next pay per view, Victory Road, the TNA World Champion will team up with the X-Division Champion to face the TNA Tag Team Champions. During this match whomever gets the winning fall wins the championship belt of the person they beat. For example if Brother Ray pins Samoa Joe, he will win the X-Division Title.
For the next three weeks on Impact each champion will defend his title. If they lose their belt, the person who wins it will replace them in the match.
Last Thursday Samoa Joe won the X-Division Title from Jay Lethal in a Triple Threat Match, so that is how he got in.
It's not very complicated.

Let me break it down.
Joe pinned Sabin to win the X Title, in a triangle match including then champion Jay Lethal.
Next week, Angle defends his World Title against Christian and Rhino.
The week after, Team 3D will defend against someone.
At the PPV, Samoa Joe will team with whoever wins the World Title and fight the Tag Champions. Whoever gets the deciding fall will earn the title of whoever they pinned. If a Tag Champ is pinned, the winner gets both titles and chooses who his partner is.
The ultimate goal is a chance at the opposite team's title, plus defending your own/winning one along the way.

At Victory Road, the main event is a Tag Team match, World and X Champ against Tag champs. The person who gets the pin wins the title of the man he pins. If someone pins a tag champ, they get both belts, and get to choose their partner.
On impact over the next 3 weeks, each title will be defended going into the Victory Road Main Event.
Joe Beat Sabin and Lethal in a triple threat match. Nothing complicated at all.

Yeah. Its a pretty lame idea IMO. The reason it seems so complicated is because it just blows the mind how silly an idea it is, and it doesn't seem like anyone would ever be dumb enough to do it. If TNA spent half as much of their focus on building good feuds and as they did on creating gimmick matches, they might be watchable.

I don't really see why it's a bad idea. Like I said, I'm only upset that they blew a chance to get Lethal more over, and just shouldn't have had him beat Sabin in the first place. Should've had Sabin win at Slammiversary, then let Joe just pin him anyway on Impact.
That said, I'm honestly looking forward to how this will build the eventual Joe vs. Angle title match.

WWE has done this same exact match twice before, and both times it was very enjoyable and not at all complicated. I don't know why everyone is confused now.

As far as gimmick macthes go, this is one of TNA less stupid ones. Still rather see three title macthes, but what ever. Least its not a deathbed match.

Um, so why have their titles all in one gimmick match, when we just got off of this whole "first official champion, everyone wrestle for the title' gimmick match?
Don't they know how to do 1 on 1 feuds?

I just wish TNA would give me simpler storylines with great wrestling to back them up. I agree with you, I still like and watch TNA but for the most part is is crap wrestling. Some people on these boards would go to hell and back to disagree but INMO it is. The people who need pushes and good storylines are getting f'd over so TNA can push CC, Tomko, Angle etc. The matches are good but the underpushed on the roster would do much better. I look at AJ Styles for instance, a few years ago Styles was the guy, he was the "future", he wasn't held back inv the ring by any gimmick he just went out there kicked ass and had a great match every time, ppv, or FSN, or Impact...No however he is just another cowardly heel. From AJ we move to the X divisiopn...The death of the X division began with Joe but at least that had story, Joe a huge unstopable force tearing through the roster on his way to the top. So on Impact we were treated to Joe jobbing out the X division, and then decent matches on pp's. The constant jobbing ruined every XD wrestlers in ring credibility. Instead of fixing that by having weekly X division shoqwcases like back in the day we are now treated to Kevin Nash killing it further with the AWFUL comedy. Now The thing with Joe going to the top, he never did Joe should have had the world title long before Angle weasled his way into the compay, thus Joe was ruined as well. with the lackluster tag division, waste of talent jobber stables and over booked Russo matches I agree TNA is very hard to watch. But I am not confused by the product but by the way everyone is ok with the product

And that James Storm v Frank Wycheck was a one time deal, no?

And that James Storm v Frank Wycheck was a one time deal, no? Jerry Lynn vs Chris Sabin and Chris Sabin vs Jay Lethal both started as feuds for the X-Division Title. Sabin vs Lynn was also over Sabin's disrespect for Lynn Sting vs Abyss-Started as a feud for the NWA Title. It became a gimmicky feud Kurt Angle vs Scott Steiner-Steiner screwed Angle out of the NWA Title at AAO Austin Starr vs Bob Backlund-Starr attacked Backlund after the Papparazzi Championship Series Chris Harris vs James Storm-It became gimmicky, but it was designed to be a serious feud Christian Cage vs Kurt Angle-Christian kept eeking out victories to retain the belt and it finally caught up to him. AJ Styles vs Rhino-Rhino didn't want AJ and Daniels to end up in a blood feud ala him and Christian.
