What are these?
I think I saw one where some guy gave a guy a low blow and held his position for likr 4 minutes and everyone kept running their crotch into his hand but aside from that what makes it so appealing? Are they really funny, or comedy because a guy is a wacky gimmick or something? I don't get it.

A comedy match is exactly what it sounds like. I don't know how to explain it. It's funny because funny things happen in the matches. How can you not get it?

They're just... wrestling matches where comedic stuff happens.
You'll either find the comedic stuff funny or you won't.

Eiger is the best. Not only is the match comedy but the commentary is too. "Eiger, Liger --who's that chick?"
Plus it looks like she belongs in The Grudge or The Ring.

Comedy match: See, Delirious vs. Colt Cabana, ANY Ebessan/Kikutaro match, most everything HUSTLE does, umm... I'm running out of obvious examples. Someone help me out.
I personally think comedy matches are brilliant when done right. Chris Bosh and his Lioncock low blow spot the first poster mentions is a perfect example of a comedy spot done right.

Sakura Hirota's entire career. That's not a diss. The veterans felt she sucked in the ring *by Japanese standards and her skills were "laughable" but she did good as a comedy heel until she retired.
Colt Cabana vs. Spanky at PWG "Uncanny X-mas" And something about Super Dragon having a chainsaw comes to mind. ..

Genki Horiguchi, Florida Brothers, Stalker Ichiwawawawa, Mecha Mummy, and I'm sure there's some more, those are comedy wrestlers (cept Genk is actually really good but he's goofy)

Salura vs. Eiger. Bit of a Jyushin Liger tribute at the beginning (clipped intro.. .that's how she changed costumes. ..either that or she's magic.) Hirota must've thought they said "Liger" instead of "Eiger". In the 90s Chapparita ASARI used to come to the ring dressed as Tiger Mask. www.youtube.com/watch?v=90pwpB2gbGoSakura Hirota mocks all of Japanese womens' wrestling's stars and others (like Spiderman and POLICE). www.youtube.com/watch?v=oiyiL1kHh-Evs. DUMP Matsumoto. 9 minutes of kendo stick/shinai based comedy pain. www.youtube.com/watch?v=mbOpzQdRg8Qthis one isn't good because it requires a lot of thought. I guess you have to be a joshi fan or know a little about joshi to get it but I'll post in anyway, it's still comedic. vs. Mima Shimoda (Sakura enters to Akira Hokuto's "Oro de Lay" theme song and is even dressed like her but when she takes off her mask her face is painted brown (mocking Etsuko Mita's seemingly permenant tan.) Mita was Shimoda's tag team partner for like 15 years. And then there's some cray shoes.) www.youtube.com/watch?v=UE2jbIOedWUUh.. .Shimoda invented to Death Valley Driver, that's the most useful thing that will come out of this. EDIT: The ref is apart of it too, he gets a big kiss! NO SELL

Mokujin Ken just leapt immediately to mind. Also known as "Ken The Box". Look him up for all kinds of weirdness.

I disagree, the ultimate comedy match is Minoru Suzuki vs Mecha Mummy.. Because well it's Mecha Mummy, and someone posted the hype videos to the match.

I remember seeing a CHIKARA match where someone was knocked onto sprinkles that were treated like thumbtacks.
Virtually any Dude Love vs. Owen Hart match also works.

I remember seeing a CHIKARA match where someone was knocked onto sprinkles that were treated like thumbtacks. That would be Retail Dragon vs. Ice Cream Jr. from Young Lions Cup IV, Night... I wanna say Night One.

I wanna say Night One. The names of the participants alone make me wanna see this. Jed Shaffer ~Joe vs. Evans vs. Ebessan vs. Delirious from RoH. Wrestling in slow motion RULES!
