My favorite part of the Cruiserweight division was being about to flip on the first hour of Nitro and watching one, maybe 2, matches from them.
Then I turned on Raw at 8.
And am I the only one who saw promise in the Cruiserweight tag division they were building before WCW was bought? I thought that idea was 5 years too late. If they had Cruiserweight tag titles in 1996-97, who would you have casted as champs and top contenders?

Jericho's reign as CW champ was the best thing in wrestling at the time. Not the NWO, DX, Austin, Hogan, Goldberg, or anything else. I just pictured Ric Flair saying that in the style of his "Not the Road Warriors, not Ricky Martel, not the Freebirds" promo. I hang out here too much, don't I? I marked out for the Yung Dragons/3 Count feud.

Cruiserweights were a part of the WCW dominance and appeal. The appeal resulted in the dominance.
Because, on any given show you could see these mexican/japanese/american guys really mixing it up like had never really been seen in the "the big 2," and later you could see the Horsemen, the nWo, other old-time big names, decent tag matches, and a plethora of outstanding, different things.
TODAY, the WWE has ONLY ONE THING... and they stick it on every guy or girl or tag team, and they bland it to death.
So I tip my hat as well to the Cruiserweight Division of old WCW. You are missed!

I've said it before and I'm saying it now. They need to release a best of the WCW cruiserweights DVD like yesterday. I'd buy that the day before yesterday.

Remember when La Parka took out every single cruiserweight on the roster (including his tag partners) with chairshots?
He then dancing like a lunatic on top of his chair, much like Leatherface's dance with his chainsaw at the end of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
