the whole thing with everyone's perception of the benoit tragedy is a big combination of the strict environment of the wrestling busines vs the steriotypical judgemental attitude of the media. It's like when a guy trips over his shoe lace, people watching might say "ah, what a mistake, what goof, he tripped over his shoe lace", Which might me a typical reaction. But If everyone found out that a guy had ADD, and then the guy tripped over his shoe lace, some uninformed people would be like "ha, it must be because of that ADD." Even if ADD has nothing to do with that.
Now, wouldn't it annoy you to see a television show all about "AAD= the effects of shoe lace tripping"? And to top it all of, to have so called AAD experts right there to feul the fire and agree while all these spectators are shaking their heads in agreement?
that's what I see with all the steroid discussion I see on tv.

Hey guys. Long time lurker, first time poster (I think).
Anyway...just read this and didn't notice any of y'all talking about it:
Sports Illustrated writer Louis Fernando Llosa appeared on MSNBC today to discuss his story from yesterday where he named the drugs that several WWE wrestlers purchased over the past few years from Signature Pharmacy, an online pharmacy being investigated by authorities for supplying drugs to people without them being examined by doctors.
During the appearance, Llosa said that Kurt Angle was also on the customer list, but called him an Olympic Gold Medalist, not a pro-wrestler.

Kevin Nash to tv journalist: "Have you ever tripped over your shoelaces?"
Good point though.

So now we worry about it like it's the worse thing to ever happen? Shouldn't we have been doing that beforehand, not making jokes about Masters and Steiner being juiced up...that was my point... You do have a point bro, sorry that i didn't get your point. I just think that the deaths (especially he-who-must-not-be-named) really opened up everybodies eyes as to how much of a legit problem this is in the business. Everyone pretty much now knows the full extent of just how much damage that this crap can have on someone, and i thinks that's why people are taking it more seriously. No worries, I'm glad it's becoming an issues finally but I was a Sammy Sosa fan back in the day and I don't like him any less because he may or may not have been using Steroids...I'm not a sheep to my heroes, I know not to inject myself with drugs...and if they do it, thats on them...and though it may have been an issue with Benoit, there was def WAY more going on with that whole situation than just some steroid abuse... Will I look at any of the guys who used differently? No, I doubt it...the past is just that, the past...if they are forced to stop and actually do, then good for them for wanting to save there bodies...and to me this may be a good thing, maybe it'll sway Vince away from wanting to push all the muscle heads...

I don't see why, seeing how the media has released several reports with lists of names, WWE doesn't just come out right staying on their site, who got suspended, and who didn't. They have to know by now that news has been leaked to the net. You think they would have said something other than "ten people got suspension notices" by now.

Okay, been away for the last day or so. What is going on? and where is the list of wrestlers that are Suspended? It is not confirmed who has been suspended, but Sports Illustrated produced a list of various drugs received by WWE wrestlers since February 2006, and that list includes Orton, Kennedy, Umaga, Regal, Haas, Edge, Helms, Funaki, Chavo and John Morrison.

Oh totally, thats kinda the way im feeling about Kennedy right now- even though i have lost respect for him as a person (if it turns out that he was downright lying about his steroid use), i'm still gunna support him, kayfabe wise anyway. However, the whole Benoit situation did make a lot of people sit up and take notice. I'm hoping that all the crap of this year will get the accused wrestlers to make a real effort to get clean, because no one wnats to see another Benoit happen, ever.

I think we're failing to see the silver lining in this situation. Are there 10 suspended guys from the WWE roster? Yes. But think of the bonding experiences those 10 can share! Camping trips, hikes, walks on the beach...

The government is doing drug bust on these online pharmacies, these wrestlers knew what they were doing was illegal, and now they pay the price for it.
good.
I hope when they release all the MMA fighters, NFL players, MLB, NBA, and the rest we can have a clearer view of everyone who takes them.
They were getting the drugs illegally.

Camping trips, hikes, walks on the beach... They can compare results! Orton: Look at my abs. I couldn't get that with crunches! Funaki: I got nothing. Absolutely nothing! *Breaks down crying*

I guess none of these guys are smart enough to proxy these drugs through someone if it really was illegal. Doesn't surprise me I guess.

It's probably been mentioned but now is a perfect time to give CM Punk the ECW title. They can easily have Johnny Nitro job and have Punk follow up with a fantastic promo on how Johnny wasn't prepared due to being hung over from partying and living his lifestyle. Out of disappointment JN takes a vacation to get his head straight (30 day suspension) and Punk can look like a golden boy by cutting promos on how Drugs/Booze ruined the champs career and he won't make those mistakes.

10 people have been suspended, but we don't have any names yet. As for the list, that's just a list of people that have gotten steroids in the past and what they got. That doesn't really have any bearing on what's happening now, it's just a list of names and substances. The WWE statement said that they won't be releasing the names of those suspended until they all know. So more than likely, after the shows this weekend, they'll inform the suspended, and they'll start serving their suspensions. Edge is out until November. So will he be suspended starting once he's medically cleared to get back into the ring?

I'm just baffled how, if these names are true, they're going to write Kennedy, Orton, Umaga, Booker, Regal, etc out of TV for a month.
But, if this is true, those guys shouldn't hold titles until they can prove they're clean. Orton's mega push should end instantly, Umaga should be stripped of the IC belt, Nitro should drop the ECW strap, Regal should lose his on-air commissionership or do comedy bits until he's off whatever he's on. Nobody suspended should even sniff a title or any sort of a push for at least six months after they return. And that really pains me to say because I'm a fan of just about every one of those guys.
WWE really needs to send this message, though. No matter who you are or what your position is on TV, you will be suspended if you violate this policy. Unless you're married to the boss's daughter.
