Is it possible that the auto-mapping of the UC is done as a part of Undertaker's "special ability" or whatever? I doubt it, the CPU Orton did 2 of them automatically to me, also (Suplex and fireman's carry, for the record) Does it still do the thing where it seems like the computer AI wants to use UC grapples all the time?

Yes. I dont know if I mentioned it here, but I know I did on Gamefaqs.....for me to do that video of Taker (me) no-selling Orton (CPU) I just stood around and let Orton pound on me to get his meter up. He did the exact same UC suplex SEVEN TIMES IN A ROW. No lie. And he did it the exact same way every time...pick me up, stand, walk a little, turn, fall back. Seven times in a row.

Thanks for the pics. The one of Misawa in the Barbedwire match looks sick. I'm honestly surprised they give this a writeup at all.

At the rate they're firing people, this game will be outdated a week before it comes out.

I don't know if this has been posted yet but: It looks like the table wreckage has been improved and the idea of flaming tables is pretty cool.

Argh, i'm going to be mood-swinging so badly over this game. Putting in things I want and yet taking out things I also want.
Guess the deciding factor will probably be the CAW mode...

Not really, I'm going to wait and see what people's opinions are of the CAW mode and if it's no better (or even worse) than last year's then i'm just not going to bother. CAW is important to me. Of course this is assuming they royally smurfed up the control system as was said and have removed x number of moves. Besides which I'm getting FPWR anyway so it's not like i'm going to be depriving myself of wrestling video-games.

it's a shame that with all of the things that are in the game that i'm still on the fence about it.
a wrestling video game in 2007 shouldn't be that way

Yeah, i used to get the games, check everything out, play it until i was bored, then start making CAWs so i am refreshed and can play longer.
But last year i started making them right when i got the game, and it felt like a chore. And i got to 25 and stopped. I actually play Showdown Legends of wrestling more. YEAH, THQ,YOU'VE SUNK THAT LOW! Hopefully this year is better.

Today's (former) Superstar is none other than Cryme Tyme's JTG.
His finisher is a Neckbreaker that is basically his part of the G9 double-team finisher. Thus I can pretty much assume that Shad's finisher will be a Samoan Drop.

I don't get why they needed to change things around from '06 really beyond more simtastic elemenets.
I don't get why they needed to remap buttons.
I don't get why they just want to completely forget all the people that bought the SD series before for it's flexibility.
I don't get this.
WTF THQ? I'd rather WWE just work through yuke's and we'd get the DOR type of games with an immense roster worthy of PS3..
seriously f*** THQ.

I don't understand how THQ can release a title as intuitive and fun as day of reckoning and then go right back to Smackdown. It'll be years before the Smackdown series gets an overhaul because it has such a solid fan base.

No the fanbase it does have is getting sick of all these changes
2006 was the best of the lot, just had an awesome 20 minute match full of close kick outs.
Then engine for SVR'06 was just fine, '07 was okay just it sucked because of the amount of moves removed and back grapples being well crap.
'08 looks even more limiting when it comes to moves...

I dunno guys, 60 bucks for some Bone-Shattering Buttsecks posters? Sounds like a bargain to me, although I'm not sure I want my bone shattered.
But seriously, after really feeling like I got screwed with '07, and finding some most parts of '06 either annoying and easy, or too hard to the point of being not-fun anymore (that's what she said?), I promised myself I would not buy '08 at all unless 3 conditions were met. They weren't things that I, then or now, considered beyond THQ's most basic abilities. So I figured if all 3 conditions were met, then "adequate work, THQ, you can count on my $60 in November." And if they weren't met then it would be proof enough for me that THQ's/WWE's agenda when it comes to wrestling games is on a complete and major disconnect from what I want as a consumer. Those conditions were as follows:
1. Sabu is in the game, either on the main playable roster or as a playable legend. (Check) 2. The Triple-Jump Moonsault is in the game, with full chair interaction and can be done by Sabu regardless of any weight-class or fighting-style restrictions. (Check) 3. The Arabian Face-Buster is the game, with the same sub-conditions as #2. (Check)
As you can probably tell, I was more than a little peeved at having to mix Chavo's "pointing up at Eddie in heaven" entrance, Jericho's Lionsault, the Harlem Hangover, Dropping the Dime, and Tazz's towel (closest thing in the game to a keffiyeh/ghutra) to make a half-way decent Sabu. It took several tries, but eventually I found enough layer space (on the PS2 with only 33 layers, mind you) so that he could the single pair of baggy pants included in PS2's CAW, with the white stripes on the side covered-up, the armband with "SABU" scribbled on it, the body scars, and a thing I found in "Make-up" that added a bunch of bloody cuts on the forehead; I made them a dark brown and blended them into Sabu's skin a little bit, to make them more like scars instead of open cuts and it really gives him that weathered look that none of those idiots on caws.ws seem to care about.
I'm still honestly thinking we might be a little (pleasantly) surprised at the choice of moves in CAW mode this year, if little else. So far we've seen reanimations of the RKO, the Tombstone, Sweet Chin Music, and the Overdrive, and that goes double for the RKO with the 2 vids Godz posted, and I noticed on HBK's IGN countdown that his default finishers are "Sweet Chin Music 1" and "Sweet Chin Music Pin 2", the latter is in an IGN video, and I'm assuming the former is the same one that's been in the last 5 games, and which was the ONLY SCM in '07. And, unless IGN f'ed up, there are at least 2 more SCMs in the game, one pinning, one non.
But there's always the possibility that they just took out every move not associated with a current or recently employed WWE superstar. And that would mean that Godz's "Gladiator" Mike Awesome CAW would have to use the Batista Bomb for a finisher, and I'm pretty sure none of us wants that, for it would dishonor us all.
