NoDQ.com > WWE > Rey Mysterio possibly moving to RAW? Posted by Bobby Spade on 10/10/2007 at 02:19 PM source: www.f4wonline.com-- Writer Brian Gewirtz is pushing to get Rey Mysterio on Raw. He noted that he is huge with children like John Cena and there were a ton of fresh opponents for him to face on the red brand. There has been talk in the past of moving Rey to Raw, but it has really picked up in the last few weeks. Right now, the decision is up in the air. McMahon didn't say yes, but he didn't say no either. If Rey left SmackDown, it would really hurt the show's ratings because they are held up by kids and Hispanics as he is a huge ratings draw in both demographics.

I do think a move would help him, and the company. Maybe move someone over to Smackdown to replace him though? I'm thinking Bobby Lashley.

If that's true, that's one of the dumbest booking decisions this year.
You have a guy who, after years of being in the meaningless cruiserweight division, got a huge rub from a deceased former champion that finally, finally pushed him to main event status as one of the lynchpins of the blue show. One of the few guys there with any real star power.
You take this guy off the blue show, basically cutting off one of the show's legs that it stands on, and put him onto a different brand where there is absolutely no room for him to grow, since there are already too many underutilized guys who would desperately love to get in the IC title hunt, and a few top guys who will not be moving out of the limelight (Hunter, Michaels, Randy).
This would do nothing for Raw's ratings unless Rey got a gigantic push (which he can't possibly get given the current Raw roster). Putting Mysterio on with anything other than huge fanfare will bury a guy who clawed and scraped for years to become a main eventer and kill his heat.
To say nothing of how it castrate Smackdown's roster and destroy the blue show's ratings. There are barely 3 main eventers on the blue show (the others being Big Dave and Khali, and Khali is getting bumped down the card now). Taking away Mysterio would be like trying to sit on a 3-legged stool that had 2 of its legs cut off.
Completely retarded.

If this happens and no star equal to rey on the totem pole moves to raw....why even have a smackdown? seriously Already, every young talent that gains traction gets moved to Raw (Cena,Kennedy,Lashley,Carlito). A brand split can only work if the brands are separate but equal. If everythings raw-centric....the other shows suffer and when raw is suffering alongside them like it is today, they are screwed.

I'd rather not see Rey Mysterio on Raw, I'd much rather Kane be brought back, I know he's not a huge draw and doesn't "bring in" the ratings, but I think with the Raw main event as thin as it is he has a better chance of being booked correctly and if Randy Orton continues to play the chicken heel, a-la Edge, him and Kane could have a really great fued.
I also like the idea of him fueding with Santino Marella alot to.

SmackDown's like Milton at this point, eventually it'll burn down Raw for stealing it's stapler wrestlers.

I do think a move would help him, and the company. Maybe move someone over to Smackdown to replace him though? I'm thinking Bobby Lashley. Lashley got moved from Smackdown to ECW because he was having problems with Kevin Dunn on the show. I doubt Lashley is ever going back to Smackdown anytime soon. If Rey goes to RAW, the logical choice is for Cena to go back to Smackdown since neither Triple H or HBK want to go to the "B" show.

RAW needs Rey, and for someone (like the immovable HHH) to go to SD.

it could be a good move i mean Rey could ahve some good feuds with the likes of Carlito and Kennedy plus i reckon if he and HBK would be a great match.

who says we need to move HBK or Triple H or anyone big like that? move like 5-6 midcarders to Smackdown like Sheldon Benjaman and Snitsky and have them be the top draw.

Blah I don't believe this original post at all. Just seems like it has been slow in the news so they are just making some open ended story that may or may not happen.
The Rajah effect has hit.

I like Rey better on Smackdown. It's so much easier to ignore him on the show I record.
Fast forward rocks!

Well if The whole save us222 thing really is Jericho then that means Raw would have another big name so i dont think they would move Rey to Raw.
But I kinda think its time for a major brand shake up like have Rey and Taker move to Raw and have HHH and Lashley move to Smackdown. just to keep it intresting i mean i can't remember the last time HHH was at Smackdown.

I acctuly don't think it would be so bad, but they would need to be reimbursed by the before said Lashly and another tag team of some type.
