Since they have so many former Hollywood writers, with tv and film credits I have to assume they're members of the writer's guild. Stephanie probably isn't since she hasn't down anything outside of WWE, same with Hayes.
I, for one, support the thought of gerwitz on strike for a few months.

I doubt that the writers WWE hires are part of the WGA, which is one of the big unions starting up the strike. If they were part of the guild, then I doubt they'd be working the conditions WWE puts them through with that schedule

If the writers go on strike there's only one thing they can do.
Turn to the wrestlecrap forums and put us in sole charge of all storylines!

Hey, I wouldn't mind them taking a little vacation for a while. Might get some actual wrestling done in the interim.

If they were part of the guild, then I doubt they'd be working the conditions WWE puts them through with that schedule It's probably no worse working hours than a daytime soap (that's about five hours a week). And they have health insurance, a dental plan (lisa needs braces) and other basic employee rights. The fact is someone like Gerwitz or Lagana who do have several tv credits to their name would have had to have been in the guild at one point. It's possible they could have taken themselves out I suppose.

And Stevie would start a Goldberg streak, Cena would cut heel promos week after week, Hornswaggle would be back in his old role having been proven to not be the son, Jamie Noble and Shelton Benjamin would be in a heated feud for the IC title, and Regal would be chasing Punk for said world title.

Wait...wait...wait? Writers on strike? Time to blow the dust off the old scripts! Rey will now become a tough talking beer drinking SOB who hates his boss Vickie Guerrero. He will fill her car with cement, attack her in the hospital and go after her and the rest of the corporation with a beer trunk and cover them in beer. Also, Vickie will enter the royal rumble and win.

I remember reading that NBC wanted WWE to hold off on one of the SNME's because they'd be lacking content if there was a writer's strike. I'd say the strike would not affect WWE.
