I loved The Write Off, while we talk of lariats. Someone, anyone, PLEASE, steal that move.

Rock bottom for sure is the best finisher ever created..... simply because it's easily countered can be reversed into many diffrent things and when it hits AUSTIN KICKS OUT YEYEAH

The FU is utter crap. It's basically an elevated fireman's carry. The Worm was dumb as hell, as was the People's Elbow.

Since we seem to be talking about worst ALL TIME finishers, I am surprised that nobody mentioned the Garvin Stomp. I mean...are ya serious? You are gonna stomp on he guys arms and legs and torso then pin him? C'mom, man!
Personally, I think the Brain Chop is the best current finisher, only because my 2 1/2 year old little girl walks around all day giving them to my wife and I all the while yelling, "Bwain Chop, Daddy!"

Frankly, with the exception of JBL, I never bought anyone using a clothesline as a finisher (Jim Duggen, Outback Jack). Slaughter's "Noogie of Doom" Texas Tonrnado punch. Watch this and you'll think otherwise on using clotheslines as finishers. www.youtube.com/watch?v=xcc4gltns8EEspecially at 3:57.

Agreed on the FU, a.k.a. the gingerly placed firemans carry The Worm and Peoples Elbow werent exactly devastating moves, but they werent meant to be, they were for pops and they worked. The Rock at least had the Rock Bottom which was more of a "traditional" finisher.

The Pump-Handle Slam
It looks absurd and it's the generic finisher for every hoss.

Not current. But... Brad Armstrong. End of thread. Ah yes. How could I forget about the devastating Russian Leg Sweep? It's fine as a mid-match takedown, but when Brad Armstrong (and later Virgil) started using it to win matches, I had to say to myself, "No wonder these guys are jobbers!" Oh, and for the record: I love your sig!

I was never a big fan of the airplane spin, someone use to use it in the 80s and I can't remember who now and wasn't one of Eugene's finishers? That would be Mike Rotundo better known as IRS Then he used the Writeoff, which was badass.

I hate any finisher that wrestler A uses to get a victory, meanwhile wrestler B will weigh more and use the exact same move and have opponents kick out. Example: Hogan's leg drop compared to Yokozuna doing it. I recall matches that Undertaker lost to Hogan due to the move that he would kick out when Yoko would deliver it to him. Am I to believe that Hogan dropping a leg, and a leg his size would only cover maybe upper chest to chin area, is more painful than Yoko's, who's leg would cover upper chest to top of head?
How about Macho Man's flying elbow drop? Many guys larger than him have hit it and never won a match, but he won match after match with it.
I like the Rock Bottom, the only version I liked better was an old WWF wrestler named Salvatory Sincere who did a move called the Sincerly Yours, which was basically a Rock Bottom with a 180. He'd pick the guy up (or they'd jump), and they'd turn while going up so they'd land facing the other direction. I just always thought it looked more devastating, not sure why because the landing was just the same.
As for worst finisher right now? How about Santino Merella's? What is it again, Bobby Lashely interference, running out of the ring, calling for someone else to fight for him? These other guys may have generic finishers, but at least the WWE website can list a finisher for them.

Jarrett's stroke. I guess I hated it because for every Russo finish that Jarrett was involved in, he'd break that move out and get ZERO crowd response. Then again, that's Jarrett's career in a nutshell.
But yeah, the Stroke. Move sucks.
Right on.

Numero uno will now and forever always be the Overdrive.
Other strong contenders are:
The Worm - (No denying a chop to the throat will hurt. But the stupid stalling and dancing beforehand is just a little much. You can add the People's Elbow here too. They're fun moves but it's hard to see them be the deciding factor in a pin.) FU - (Not a bad move exactly. But I just don't think it has enough force to be as believably strong as we are expected to believe.) Complete Shot - (Yeah, I don't really get it.) Stunner - (Ditto.) Perfect Plex - (I'll never understand why people love it so much. How is it more powerful than a regular vertical suplex?)
