...and this thread is an example why he shouldn't ever be mentioned.
The slightest hint of "Benoit" from WWE and all the same debates start. And that's just between a few fans. They (WWE) don't really want the majority of people doing that same.

well i thought it was common knowledge, that if we never mention benoit agian or watch his dvd's this will cause jesus/mohammad/buddah/shiva to decend from heaven and bring his wife and child back from the dead.

Wow... I never tire of this debate! Yes, it was unspeakable. What happened left an stain on his career that is irremovable. Blah blah blah, we all understand that! But is it too much to ask that WWE at least be able to mention his name when it is necessary? Or are we to stand idly by and allow his entire career to be white-washed from history because he did the horrible deeds that one fateful weekend? And, if we do that, what's to stop WWE from expanding upon that precedence? I wouldn't care. He pretended to beat people up for our pleasure, that's not exactly something relevant enough to positively affect his legend in light of his final actions.

It really doesn't bother me to talk about Benoit or even watch his matches. I mean yeah, he was a murderer, but that doesn't change the fact that he was a damn great wrestler.
Also, when did the WWE mention TNA?

Also, when did the WWE mention TNA? For about a few minutes last night, before WWE noticed and took it off. Not before a few fans got a screen-capture of it. Oh, and a picture of Benoit features in their video about the WWE Car.

Not to mention, guys...it's Wrestlemania results. Even if it is about Benoit, it's because they don't want to take anything away from their biggest show of the year. Think about that one.

They took the TNA mention off a few minutes after the article was uploaded. what was it? Austin said something about TNA not having any huge stars, or something.

As a Benoit fan, I'd just like to add that regardless of how much WWE does or doesn't acknowledge him over time, the events of this past summer will always leave the same sad/confused feeling in me for the rest of my days watching professional wrestling. Chris deserved to be remembered better than this, and his family sure as hell deserved to live full lives.

At the end of the day, Chris, Nancy and Daniel all died in tragic, heartbreaking circumstances.
Removing any mention of him from websites, merchandise etc will not change that fact or bring them back.
Keeping any mention of him on websites, merchandise etc will not change the fact or bring them back either.
Doing either of the above, will always upset and anger some people, as one of the things we all have difficulty in accepting/handling is the fact that Chris died without being held accountable for his actions. There is no closure there for anyone, fans, friends or family members.
I honestly believe that the lack of closure, the lack of explanation is more distressing to people than the thought that the wrestling product may in some way be tarnished by having him associated with it.
The bottom line to all this is that the Benoit story is a tragedy, and a tragedy that is inescapably intertwined with the world of professional wrestling or sports entertainment.
I hope that somewhere down the line, a lesson is learned from the whole sorry incident. Because at least if someone somewhere is in a similar place mentally to Chris Benoit during his final days, and the Benoit story pushes that person into seeking help, then at least something positive will come from the whole affair.

That's actually not true, because for any other PPV Benoit mentions are gone, and he was erased from several [glow=red,2,300]VD's[/glow]Was i the only one who laughed at that one? It really doesn't bother me to talk about Benoit or even watch his matches. I mean yeah, he was a murderer, but that doesn't change the fact that he was a damn great wrestler. I fully agree with this man. just because Benoit did what he did, I will still enjoy the matches of him I already do like, such as the Owen Hart tribute match he had with Bret Hart.

The media and casual fans are in it on the WWE and the last thing WWE wants to do is show a murderer in their sites.
