Its like everything else in society today. We eliviate the personal responsibility of individuals. It happens all the time in the media. A guy robs a bank, he gets caught.......its "societies" fault for dealing him a bad hand, right? It bulls***. These wrestlers who blame Vince for their woes need only to look in the mirror to see the cause of their problems. In the NFL or MLB, if guys are caught using steroids (Shawn Merriman, etc.) nobody blames the TEAM or the LEAGUE. Why? Because networks need sports to sell their ads. They cant afford to be degrading them. Steroids may or may not have been a factor in the Benoit tragedy, but if it was, its on Benoit, not Vince or Linda McMahon. But wrestling? Its a hatchet job like always, because the general public views wrestling as trash. As always, the business will get past this and thrive again. Right on. Because as big as Wrestlemania may be.... it'll NEVER sell like the Superbowl. I think it's high time for us, the wrestling fan to demand a change within the company. Maybe when we go to TV shows and such we should just completely stop acknowledging that these big roided out superstars exist. Don't cheer them. Don't boo them. Don't buy their T-Shirts or Figures. Just sit down and ignore their promos, or change the station. Maybe then it'll send a message. Because the sad fact is, these big guys continue to draw. And until they don't... there is no real "need" for anything to change. ~Kyle What about some guys who can't help it that they are 7 feet tall or just love to eat?

Usually I'm all about personal responsibility, but there's also being an enabler. Vince Knows what's going on, somewhat encourages it, and doesn't care what these people do as long as they're out of his line of sight.

I'm getting kind of tired of "personal responsibility" being misused. It does not mean that employers aren't responsible for encouraging (either passively or actively) bad behaviors among their employees or not taking a stand against it. What's more telling is that people only tell others something is THEIR responsibility when they want to avoid responsibility themselves. Truthfully, everyone is responsible for everything. The choices you make can effect the world in ways you don't know about or understand. Ignorance of this doesn't make one less responsible.
When you're in a position of power, you do become responsible for those serving under you. If you can't handle this burden of responsibility, then you shouldn't have any power at all.

Or being "too pc".

I was talking about the real obvious muscle bound steroid guys like Batista or Chris Masters. I don't have a problem with big guys in general, I happen to enjoy watching guys like Kane (and for what it counts, I don't think Kane is using steroids). I think it's fairly obvious when you watch the program who is using and who isn't. You can tell the guys who don't, Jeff Hardy, C.M. Punk... even guys like Gene Snitsky and Kane. Compare them with Bobby Lashley, Batista, John Cena, and Chris Masters. It is quite interesting to note how guys like Randy Orton can go from fairly normal looking, to quite ripped when the make the leap to main event. It's fairly obvious and maybe it's time for us fans to do whatever we can to bring about change in this industry. Write an e-mail, change the channel, tell a friend, whatever it is you want to do... I say we do it. Because I don't know about you, but I don't want to have to sit through another Chris Benoit, and you know that’s right where we are headed. It might not be to the same scale, but it'll happen again. Look at Harry Smith; he's been on TV for what? Two weeks and he already has been handed a 30 day suspension (I've not followed up on what it's for, so anyone is free to inform me farther). The fact is wrestling IS a mess at this point. I just hope it changes, before more of our heroes end up hurt... or worse. ~Kyle

The piece they ran was shit. Cue the scary music, the zoom into Dynamite Kid's red eyes and the tone. The crappy piecing of the stories by the editors and whomever was in charge basically made it a piece barely hanging together with the Elmer's Glue of soft Giraldo Rivera reporting.
On the other hand, the WWE does not look so good at the moment. It's quite obvious that their Wellness Policy is shit and they clearly are not intentiualy willing to step it up.
The solution is quite simple. A union is needed. Whether it be entertainment or sport, unions are a must in an industry that involves media and media exposure. Wrestlers are really in need of it. It is beneficial to have such unions in order to demand dental, healthcare and proper money and discrimination handling.

It'd be hilarious if the mystery interview was the Iron Shiek.
Shiek: "CNN! Numba 1! WWE! Hac-pooey!"

I've always had my doubts about the Wellness Policy. Finding out that there's actually four strikes was disappointing (especially when you listen to the IOC's anti-doping policy, which should be the blueprint for all professional sports).
As for Cena, he looked about as uncomfortable as a nun in a strip club when he had to answer the steroid question. I know he tried to be honest without admitting it, but what's done is done. I won't speculate any further on that.

i wanna watch it and i dont wanna watch it. But I will be watching it though. I know there going to blast something I love very much. Its hard being a wrestling fan. Truer words were never spoken. I recently watched some of the news interviews from earlier this year when the tragedy first happened, and it just made me so angry at how the media is basically on a witch hunt with all of the steroid allegations. I just get upset when they know nothing about wrestling, and that b**** Nancy Grace keeps interrupting people she interviews. Ahhh!!

Not a Nancy Grace fan, but the industry could stand to have a larger microscope under it- for a number of reasons. I'll definitely catch the replay.

I'd say it's borderline impossible taking into account the wide variety of reasons wrestlers take steroids (hastening of recovery during surgery, building strength, cosmetic purposes, etc, etc)

So how long will it take before someone takes the video of the anonymous wrestler and speeds up the dialogue so it sounds normal, so we can all try and figure out who it is?

It came off pretty balanced to me, but they could have presented it better than the shock style they did, which made WWE look seedier than it already is.
