Ric Flair pinned the WWE Champion, Randy Orton, in the middle of the ring, semi-cleanly, 1-2-3! He should be WWE Champion! This is a travesty! Ric Flair's career was on the line, why wasn't Orton's title?! He bested the champ, but because it wasn't for the title, Ric get's shafted! Why wasn't it a title match? Flair, being a former 20+ time World Heavyweight Wrestling Champion, is certainly on a level high enough to get title matches. He put his career on the line. He should have got a title match. I just hope, that soon, Ric gets the title match he deserves for pinning the champ.
So, here's to the once again uncrowned Real World Champion, Ric Flair.

OK, back to being a smark now. I marked out SO HARD when my favorite wrestler, Ric Flair, got the match against orton. I truly didn't know what the outcome would be. I was so disapointed that it wasn't a title match. I figured if Ric did win, it would be DQ or count out. I marked out so much harder when Flair got the pin. Wonderful. I truly do hope he gets th title match next week. Let it end in DQ if it must(wiuth Flair winning so his career continues), but let it happen.

Semi-cleanly?
Jericho distracted Orton, Flair nailed him in the nuts AND hooked the tights on the pin.

I agree that Ric Flair should be the Champ! Also, President Reagan should do something about the Berlin Wall, dammit.

Semi-cleanly? Jericho distracted Orton, Flair nailed him in the nuts AND hooked the tights on the pin. For Flair, that IS Clean :-P Besides, I was in Mark Mode when I wrote that. For Flair to win dirty, there has to be physical outside interference(if Jericho had hit Orton or Lowbridged him), or a foreign object(knux instead of the low blow). He is the dirtiest player in the game, after all. You can't expect him to not cheat just a little.

I think they will hold back on a title shot for a long time, perhaps wrestlemania or royal rumble. I just want to watch flair go through the raw, smackdown, and ecw roster and see how he wins each time.

I think the issue there is more about how wrestling's most famous Old Man should probably not cleanly beat one of the youngest champs that the company clearly is trying to push very hard and build up a lot of heat for. It does raise the interesting question, will his last match be giving Orton the rub, or giving Trips the rub? Before tonight, I was 100% sure his last match would be with Hunter, now I'm not so sure.

Few things about Flair's promo last night.
Did anyone else think he got a "meh" pop? I was expecting something like what he got when he returned to WCW and rejoined the Horsemen. Oh well.
I thought it was funny how he said "There's a reason I haven't been on Raw for 6 months". Yea, it was beacuse you were traded to Smackdown!, a fact that I'm guessing we're meant to forget as no mention was made of it.
Secondly, he says "I opened up my own marketing company". I thought it was finance? Hopefully, Flair has left his marketing/finance/whatever company in the hands of people who know what service it offers!
When McMahon came out I seriously thought we were gonna see a re-hash of their 2002 fued, which I don't wanna see. Hearing McMahon say he gets "turned on" by ruining lives once in my lifetime is enough!
I agree about the WWE Championship thing. If I were Flair I'd be thinking I might as well go for it all, I'll put my career on the line, you put your belt on the line.
That would have set up Flair to win the WWE Title on Raw, in his hometown. It's totally out of the blue, the crowd (I hope) would go nuts and people would tune in next week to see just where things are going with the WWE Title picture!

I'm seeing Naitch go right up to Wrestlemania with this streak and retiring at the grand-daddy of them all.
The only conundrum is the Rumble. If Flair is an entrant he will have to win. Could he be one of the last two, battered and bruised with Vince strutting down to the ring screaming at the other participant to throw him out. Whoever respectfully gets Flair to his feet and then they graciously step over the ropes and let Flair win.
Not sure on which Title he would go for and who would be in the Rumble, but the idea is there.

Not nesecarilly. He has to lose by pinfall, submission, countout or disqualification. Nobody said anything about elimination by being tossed over the top rope in a battle royal/Rumble type situation.
I suppose if you want to see that as a loophole, you can.
I also wonder about things like double disqulification, double count outs and time expiration. If that happens (where there is no clear winner or loser), does the stipulation still carry weight?

That would be great. He has to win the Rumble or retire, so he wins it. Then he gets his shot at Mania. Best of all, NO BOBBY LASHLEY!

It's just one man wins.

However it is entertaining the majority of fans and thats only a good thing. Fair play to the old man for still being at that level! ;D

I'm more intrigued about what his role will be when he retires.
