Isn't it ok to show it in the UK or something? I would think it would be harder to get away with it there since that is where the Fund filed the suit that caused this mess. Maybe the un-blurred scratch logo is the major return that the other thread is speculating on

Actually, I can tell you exactly why that footage is the way it is. Shortly BEFORE the name change, the WWF released its "Funniest Moments" DVD. By the time it appeared on Fanatics, however, the name change had already happened. Unfortunately, the Fanatics version had already been edited together and was ready to go, so all they could do was slap the WWE logo over it for a quick fix. This footage is from that Fanatics airing.

They filed the suit in the UK. What in the hell does it have to do with the US? I think it was part that the agreement was that the WWE couldn't use the WWF name outside of the States so they had to prove their point outside of the States and the the UK courts are stricter than US on copyright laws. I am not sure on that though

Why couldn't the World Wrestling Federation just offer the World Wildlife Fund some money to change their name?

I still don't understand how we lost to the freaking World Wildlife Fund to begin with!?! I for one totally detest the whole "WWE" name, to this day I still have the hardest time saying it out loud. It sounds so stupid. It doesn't even roll of your tung like "World Wrestling Federation" did. You can use that in a sentence and it sounds like proper English.
"My name is Bret 'The Hitman' Hart, and I'm the World Wrestling Federation Champion."
Compare that to...
"My name is Bret 'The Hitman' Hart, and I'm the World Wrestling Entertainment Champion."
It's all made worse by the fact that they STILL haven't updated the logo to include any type of "E" in it at all. It was fine for a little bit... but the fact that the current WWE logo is just to "W's" on top of each other with a backwards NIKE logo under it is stupid.
Rant over..... 8)

Why couldn't the World Wrestling Federation just offer the World Wildlife Fund some money to change their name? It would cost too much. The Fund did offer Vince a deal where they could make a donation (rumored to be around $20 million) and keep the name but, Vince refused and lost.

Actually, they can use the words world wrestling federation, just not WWF. If you read biographies you'll notice that all pre-02 stuff is referred to as "the world wrestling federation".
