Yes folks, the shooting star press has become a moonsault. Thanks to Todd Grisham for changing the name of the move for all us fans. I'm pretty sure one of the Tokyopop FMW commentators already did that years ago... Even if they didn't, they certainly did call a corkscrew senton a phoenix splash (twice), and later on while calling the same match proceeded to call the actual phoenix splash "a combination of the phoenix splash and the firebird (450) splash!" In the very beginning of the video they introduced all of Hayabusa's signature moves WITH THE NAMES ON THE SCREEN, and they STILL managed to screw up repeatedly. I don't think JR or even Todd Grisham would manage that.

Maybe it was actually the Shooting Star Staple Super Press?

I remember Mike Tenay calling the standing SSP a running moonsault a few times.

I want to rally to get this move's name changed to the "7 Year Itch" again.

I want to rally to get this move's name changed to the "7 Year Itch" again. Why did Kidman call it that? Because when he was in the Flock, he looked very dirty, and scratched himself....a lot. I mean, a lot. He was a very itchy looking dude.

I did like how they'd refer to the top rope as the "Falcon's Nest" whenever Hayabusa went for one of his high-flying moves. I don't know if they just took that from the original Japanese commentary, but regardless it was pretty cool.

It's very simple.
Backflip while facing someone = Shooting Star Press Backflip while facing away = Moonsault.
Spinning 180 degrees = Phoenix OR Corkscrew (With Phoenix being the more proper) Spinning 360 degrees = Corkscrew
Doing something while facing away = Imploding. If you face away from someone on the top rope and jump backwards, flipping forwards and landing on your back, it's an "Imploding Senton Splash." If you do the same with a 450, it's a "Imploding 450 Splash."
And if you face away from someone and do a Shooting Star Press, it's a called a Moonsault.

It's such a pointless move. It's like doing a fist wind-up before punching someone - whether you flip over six times, once, twice or sideways, your still going to fall from the same height.
