"You say this like the WWE gets terrible ratings. As far as cable shows go, they usually do a damn fine job. I mean, their presence on USA boosted the station's ratings for a reason."
Yeah its kind of like a rock group that gets so established that they can play garbage shows and still sell tickets. I can see this point being very accurate.
They can have a bad show every now and then. Just dont do it all the time.

You know I think this is just a case of you guys taking someone a little TOO literally.

You know I think this is just a case of you guys taking someone a little TOO literally. Perhaps. I admit it, I was going for a cheapshot by starting it, and some good ol' fashioned Cole bashing, to keep things fun, but I did do a double-take when he said it. Claiming RAW is "the longest running episodic show in entertainment, beating out MASH, The Simpsons, and Cheers" is a bit, well, insane. All he had to say was "longest running show of its type" and everything would've worked. Slip of the tongue? Maybe, but as as a very capable journalist, which Cole was before he joined WWE (check out his documentary on his 9 months in war torn Bosnia, it's fantastic), he should remember to "check his copy" before the mic is turned on. That's week one stuff from journalism school or broadcasting classes.

Why does this make Micheal Cole an idiot? Maybe someone else wrote this for him and he just read it.

As much as I dislike Michael Cole, I LOVE when someone calls someone else an "idiot" and then proceeds to be incredibly wrong.

I think he meant RAW is the longest running cable show, The Simpsons is on basic cable.

What did you expect him to say? Well, we are the longest running... except for soap operas! Cole did nothing wrong, and is just another case of him being a whipping boy for absolutely everything, even if the point of intent is just seeming like it is reaching for new ways to insult him.
