Yes, Planet Earth was "localized" for the Discovery Channel. Most BBC Documentries are. For example, the US version of Walking With Dinosaurs had Avery Brooks, and the US version of Life had Oprah. It's not only using an American Actor, it's a weights and measurements thing as well. You can't use the Metric system on American television (Especially for Temperature) and things cannot be refered to as an area the size of Wales.
I for one, prefer DA, and usually buy the BBC version from off Amazon. I hear Planet Earth was amazing on HD-DVD.

Do you know how large the government would have to be to protect us from every stupid decision we as a nation make?

The elderly are only weak because they are victims of old age, as we all will be someday. Since human youth is fleeting and fragile, to trust in it as a source of supremacy is foolish. Aside from that, it's barbaric. In barbarian cultures, the strong dominate the weak, like animals, and the elderly suffer, just as women, children and slaves. If we belive that all human life has the same worth, and all men posess an inherant dignity that should be respected, then respect for the old is a countermeasure to the human tendency towards power worship.
But in all fairness, I don't think they truely care about what fat dullards posting YouTube comments think about them.

I argue it's an combination of juvenile humor (Think Crank Calls) and poor moral education.

Clearly it was Buffy's "Restless." What a real way to mess with us.

Has anyone been reading this? In short, Spider-man is still being published as a Daily Comic, and Stan Lee is writting it, Mole Man has kidnapped Aunt May and is trying to make her his bride. She has accepted, Spiderman is giving her away, a local Clergyman is present, and Moleman's subject mole people are showing up as guests. Very, well, strange.

Glenn Beck. Not because I dislike him, per se, It's when I want to listen to Rush, I'll listen to Rush, not his cover band. It's the same reason I'll watch Pawn Stars but not Auction Kings.

I had that problem when I first met a Jamacian. "Why does she sound Scottish?"
But in all fairness, the Negro Dialect is a pretty well established thing in American English. Most African American communities migrated from the south during the last seven decades, and are largely not intergrated with the white population. That they have developed their own manner of speaking is not at all unusual. It's not unlike the Amish, who have unique accents, or Yiddish, a varient of German spoken by Jews living in closed societies. If you didn't learn to speak under those circumstances, you probably don't have an accent, and if your primary exposure to blacks is to urban blacks living in segregrated areas, then you probably expect black people to have an accent.

The sad thing is, Square Enix remakes stuff all the time. I remember Japan getting a DQ 1&2 SNES pack. They remade a lot of their games for the PS1, the GBA and the DS. So, they'll remake games, just not the one that made them a lot of money. In all reality, if they didn't remake it when Advent Children, Dirge and Crisis Core came out. My guess is, that Sony has placed a hold on the remake, and is saving it for a big event.

Rouge and Leach: Aside from the X-men as metaphors for teenagers coming to grips with their emerging identity, you have to remember, both Xavier and Magneto's ideology is that Mutation is the next step of human evolution, of progress. Which is flawed, evolution is not a matter of benign providence, but rather a process of trial and error (Unless you are Doomsday). That some mutants have powers resembling birth defects should be probably be accounted for, but isn't. So basically, Rouge has been indoctrinated by Xavierism, and would see losing her power, even for a moment, as a betrayal of her destiny.

Well, in all fairness, the n64 controller introduced a lot of concepts that form the foundation of modern game control, namely both the analoge stick and the rumble pack. That the first incarnation of the concept was fragile, is to be expected.

I thought Scott Pilgrim was pretty good in casting somewhat prominent actors in rather bit roles.

Frankly, given how few games are released for VC these days, you can't really turn your nose to them.

Also, a lot of you guys are describing retail service jobs. In that line of business, you have to be open for business, because people are still doing business.
Also, reason #45 why Chickfilla is awesome.

Poor Dick Clark. You don't want to laugh at him, but, then he keeps showing up every year. It was nice to get my boy band dose for the year.
