I think we have to realise these people are processing their own trauma too and in real time.
They knew Vince and to differing levels saw him as a friend, father figure etc. This will suck for them too and will take time.

I'm full on in cope mode here but let's just say Roman beats Dwayne at Mania
Cody gets his title shot on the next night on RAW with the rabid Raw after Mania crowd. Would you take that at this point?

I can't be the only one who completely forgot Becky Vs Shayna happened at a Wrestlemania I still can't remember this or anything about it... Was it the year Shayna destroyed everyone in the chamber? I'm not sure, though would make sense, it was the empty arena Wrestlemania

Cody went through an entire match with a serious injury just to make sure the advertised main event for a C-level PPV no one especially cared about remained as it was, spent 15 minutes in the Rumble going all-out against Gunther rather than just showing up for 30 seconds to win, and worked 20 matches in between the Rumble and Mania. Any time people act like he just showed up and got the title shot is being completely disingenuous. Someone who was there and worked his butt off still had to get passed over for someone who put in less.
Sucks that Cody was injured, but in his absence someone rose to grab that brass ring, and they had to just give it back to Cody because Cody was deemed better for business.
This year, Cody's in that Sami spot.
Being injured is not the same as sitting at home for 6 months because you don't want to work. The top star returns from injury to main Wrestlemania has happened on several occasions. Austin in 2001, Triple H in 2002, Cena in 2008, Edge in 2010. Not one of those times did anyone suggest they were stealing a spot, a part timer or that they hadn't put the work in. It's not even remotely the same thing. As for Sami, he got his title match, in his home town and got the Wrestlemania main event with his best friend which made sense to the story. He didn't win the Rumble and then go "oh shucks, well Cody, you should have this match instead".

I don't doubt there's a small handful of bellends saying awful stuff, and they should be dealt with.
However, posts like "These Cody fans are going too far! #WeWantRocky" are slowly taking over timelines, people are using a tiny handful of c***s to use for their agenda and how no one should listen to any Cody fans or wrestling fans in general.

I’ve not read the whole thing, so forgive me if it’s already been said, but from a strictly storytelling perspective, would it not make more sense to have Cody beat Roman for the title, throwing the Bloodline into chaos and leading to the Rock coming in to challenge Roman’s leadership? I know, that means Rock vs Roman doesn’t happen at Wrestlemania. But Wrestlemania doesn’t need it and Rock vs Roman doesn’t need the title. . Well of course, but Dwayne isn't interested in what makes sense here. Much like, if he really wanted to help like he claims he is doing, he'd lend his name and box office to a show that needs help selling tickets, not the already nearly sold out Wrestlemania.

What goes against the worked shoot thing as well is, if the idea is to go with Cody then they just got the hopes up for a bunch of Rock fans.
Sure, most of us on here want Cody but there is obviously people who want Rock too.
And then we'll just be in the same situation but with a smaller crowd of disgruntled fans.
It's a no win.

be kind of a waste to only go 10 minutes even if the crowds are going to be pissed, when was the last bullrope match on raw/sd? I hate myself for knowing this… Hornswoggle v Chavo Guerrero, 8/31/09 RAW because Dusty Rhodes was guest host. I believe it was a “comedy” match with Chavo dressed as a cow. In terms of one played straight… Batista v JBL, 9/9/05 SmackDown. I think Dusty had one with Orton but that was on PPV

Because Tony books 1 women's match a show? I think the implication is Rossy was causing issues. I know, just being a smartass, I'm doing anything to avoid working and it's 5:30am, on the all nighter 🤣

It's likely just a one-and-done thing for Cody to do and then after that... who knows? Everything about him and Roman and the Rock is kinda stuck in this unchartered waters situation, esp. as fan backlash with Rock strongarming himself into a match with Reigns just grows and grows. It does seem a bit fishy that they haven’t actually officially announced the matches yet. I mean, yeah, it could easily be done on RAW or at that press conference, but I’d have figured WWE, even with the backlash ahead of them, would’ve been like “REIGNS V ROCK IS OFFICIAL” the second they had them on the screen at the same time. Not an ad for the press conference, specifically “Roman Reigns vs The Rock for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 39”. The fact that they haven’t is giving everyone hope that may be completely unfounded. Especially with how fast the Iyo vs Bayley graphic went up

Probably put him in a match so they can hype it as the main event all night, he has the 10 minute match and they go off the air. No chance of a promo to hijack. There'll still be opportunities to hijack, esp. if they show any sort of Wrestlemania or Rock-related thing to the crowd, as we saw during NXT Vengeance Day. Video packages that go straight to commercial so you don't get crowd reactions

WWE got Kairi..
So yeah I don't see it being a AEW/WWE thing?

Really makes this photo from lastnights show crazy now. My biggest regret from my promoting days was not taking pictures. The only one I've got is me in the background of an angle where 70% of the frame is on the refs ass.

I saw someone (Meltzer I think) mention it being part of why Kairi went back to WWE.
This is what I don't understand, like sure if they're doing talent trades and they're going over for certain shows and he's working against them, that's obviously bad.
But if she's leaving, he can't stop her from signing with AEW? Presumably she signed with WWE because that's where she wanted to go.
