49. Journey to the Center of the Earth (2008) 50. Journey to the Center of the Earth (1989) 51. The Ghastly Love of Johnny X (2012)Another Creature Features movie. And an unusual one for them as it was produced in the 21st century. This is a low-budget black and white movie made as a tribute to old 50's sci-fi and greaser films. For those not familiar, Johnny X is an alien who's exiled to Earth after trying to use a "resurrection suit" to take over his home planet. On Earth he and his followers take up the guise of a greaser gang and try to track down Johnny's ex-girlfriend, Bliss, who's stolen the suit, and this is all tied into some washed-up rockstar named Mickey O'Flynn. The first half of the movie is pretty fun and shows promise, but it just kinda falls apart in the second half, with things just getting sillier and sillier and the characters just becoming more and more unlikable.

49. Journey to the Center of the Earth (2008) 50. Journey to the Center of the Earth (1989)Found it on Tubi! A few weeks back I watched Alien from L.A., a movie with something of a mixed reputation. Did you know it had a sequel?!?! Well sorta anyway. This was actually in production well before Alien from L.A. but got shut down pretty quickly without much to show for it. The original director, Rusty Lemorande, claims he was only responsible for the first eight minutes of it. Eventually it was given to Albert Pyun to finish, without much in the way of financing to get that demand done. He brought in the whole Atlantis concept to tie it into his previous movie, Alien from L.A., as well as actors and sets from it, including a split-second, non-speaking cameo from Kathy Ireland, which I'm almost positive was taken from stock footage. Unfortunately the story of how this movie got made is infinitely more interesting then the story the movie itself is telling. Disjointed plot, sub-plots that go nowhere, characters awkwardly disappearing, tonally inconsistent, non-existent pacing, what few special effects there are are pretty bad. Honestly the movie doesn't even have an ending, it just ends. And the padding. Oh God the padding. Just to get it up to its modest eighty minute runtime right before the credits roll the movie just randomly plays a three minute instrumental music video that I think is just made up of random unused footage and bloopers from the rest of the movie. And all that isn't even mentioning the random dream sequences that occur about a third of the way through featuring characters that aren't seen anywhere else in the movie. I can't think of a movie that just had so many core issues with it. Say what you will about the quality of Alien from L.A. but at least it felt like a coherent movie. This was just a trainwreck. So I highly recommend it!

People seem to be picking a vanity power over one that could most likely keep you safe. Safety > Vanity. What are you doing in your life that you need either flight or invisibility to stay safe?

{Spoiler}{Spoiler}As Rex. Honestly, I would be really disappointed if he wasn't there.

In hockey, a hat trick is scoring 3 goals in a single game. In baseball, it's striking out 3 times in a single game. "Hat Trick" has in general become slang for doing anything in three's nowadays.

This show reappears occasionally to remind me that it wasn’t, in fact, a fever dream. Recall Pop Kids UK would show it seemingly 24/7. Hilariously catchy theme song. Seems to be common among Sonic cartoons.

Just throwing a theory out there for the second part… {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}…so the whole Spider Society is supposed to make sure someone dies in Miles’ universe because it’s supposed to happen…but what if there’s three other Spideys out there in the multiverse to back him up that have proven that it’s possible to save those meant to die? {Spoiler}{Spoiler}I will accept this only if those three other Spider-Men are Toei Spider-Man, Electric Company Spider-Man and the Spider-Man from that episode of Phineas & Ferb.

47. Sonic the Hedgehog (1996) 48. Black Adam (2022) 49. Journey to the Center of the Earth (2008)Latest arrival from Netflix. Did you know there are a lot of movies called "Journey to the Center of the Earth"? And that a surprising amount of them were released in 2008? Well this is the Brendan Fraser one, which automatically makes it the greatest one. Unfortunately this isn't Fraser's best work. I mean, he's great as always, and the movie does have its moments, but over-all it's a pretty weak and oddly outdated feeling adventure. Now to track down the 1989 version.

This is one of the many movies I had in the "Saved" section of my Netflix queue that Netflix quietly removed over the last week after the announced they were discontinuing their DVD by mail service.

“Due to budget cuts we are down to one singular Mythbuster… the crash dummy, because we don’t have to pay it” Dude, show some respect. The crash test dummy's name is Buster.

I remember growing up in the 80's they would every so often preempt the regular afternoon cartoons and replace them with random movies. The Last Unicorn was the most common, but every so often they'd air this weird old Little Mermaid anime from the 70's that ended with the Mermaid committing suicide. It was honestly quite disturbing to a four year old BlackoutCreature.

I was always glad that Disney cut out the murder/suicide and cannibalism that was in the original novel that A Goofy Movie was based on.

Recently watched Black Adam. Henry Winkler had a cameo as the Golden Age Atom, Al Pratt (I believe the credits billed him as "Uncle Al"). I kinda wanna see that movie. I'm imagining The Fonz, only every so often he'd put on a luchador outfit and fight crime and alien invaders and whatnot.

DS9, Voyager and Stargate: SG1 all had an episode where one of the main cast has memories of a criminal act implanted into them as punishment for something they didnt do. Voyager & SG1 had the memories removed by the end of the episode as they prove the innocence of the crew member. TNG did a similar plot as well with "Frame of Mind".

I can't really picture "lumbering jackass who chokes people for 97% of his offense" working as a face. Maybe if you pair him with some face "rehabilitating" him it could click, but that's about it. Rehabilitated Nailz and Civilized Kamala could have been the greatest tag team that Reverend Slick ever managed!

The third episode of Star Trek TNG was a rehash of TOS' The Naked Time. It was even called The Naked Now! Eh, that was less a rehash and more a tribute. A really poorly done tribute, but a tribute nonetheless.

I keep reading the thread title as the "Oreo Revolution" and keep clicking on the thread thinking it's gonna be about a new Oreo flavor. I'm constantly disappointed when it's not.
