Would it? I mean, what's really separating Dark/Elevation from ROH at this point? The PPVS? The handshakes? Storylines as well, there are still ROH storylines going on The thing is with DARK/Elevation being pulled by Warner, Tony now uses ROH as the bulk wrestling show. He wants to give people jobs and give them more opportunities because both of those shows fizzled. You can argue whether or not this is at ROH's expense, but I don't think ROH is just a nothing happening show week to week. Tony could stand to trim the cards and focus more on certain talents or storylines yes, but ROH is presented in a higher light than Elevation or DARK in my view. Eh at least Dark/Elevation gave me Emi Sakura, Nyla Rose, and Marina Shafir every week. Now I don't get any of them ever really and instead I have to watch The Righteous every week

Cooling off Shingo after his championship win and getting stuck in the KOW nonsense is such a mind boggling decision to me. Especially with Ibushi leaving. You have someone who got established as a legit main eventer and then dumped him in the midcard until his aura faded. He's probably still getting one of the 2 spots in his block. It'll come down to him vs Evil (ugh) and Eddie vs Finlay, and I'd bet they aren't THAT stupid to have Evil in the quarters over him. They are to have Finlay win, but at least they have the excuse that Finlay actually works there.

I can't believe Evil/Tama Tonga went more than 15 minutes. This is asking too much of humankind.

I liked Shooter/Narita more than you by quite a bit, but I agree that was the match of the night. And the special thing that Tsuji has...Sanada just doesn't have it. At least with EVIL he didn't hold the belt for long but they're gonna keep it on Sanada until WK and that kinda blows because he's just not good enough to be the guy. Also bummed out that Ishii just lost to David Finlay as someone that doesn't care much for Finlay. I actually am really liking SANADA as champion, but I can see why someone would favor Tsuji. I'm really liking Tsuji's energy, and think he has a lot of potential that we're getting more and more glimpses of, whereas SANADA is usually more subdued and taciturn. I kind of like that about him, though, in a way. I guess it's just one of those things people differ on. As for Ishii, yeah. I kind of like Finlay well enough, but I'm still not sold on him as Bullet Club leader yet, and while Ishii's fantastic at putting people over, I'd have rather had Ishii win here. Maybe the reasoning was, "If we did that, he'd likely get a title match, and Ishii has been champion/challenged for the NEVER title roughly 34,000 goddamn times, so let's hold off on that right now and just have Finlay win this one." I just feel like Finlay is behind basically every member of his faction in terms of being interesting as both a character and in ring. That and see Gabe Kidd/Coughlin both lose their first match against much worse opponents than Ishii has ticked me off a bit. Great Shingo/Eddie match there and I'm glad NJPW sees how good Eddie is.

In an alternate booking universe, Mankind is added to the match instead of Big Show. Vince screws Triple H and helps Mankind win to not only hurt Hunter, but as an apology to Foley for one year earlier. Mankind vs HHH happens at Armageddon with Stephanie as special ref. She screws over Foley and gets with Triple H. And avoid the masterclass Big Show/Boss Man PPV match that somehow got a boring chant despite being 3 minutes long followed up by an approximately five and a half hour Vince/HHH main event?!

Not a stellar start compared to some amazing opening nights in G1 history, but still great to have the ultimate tournament back. SANADA main-eventing Night 1 as champion makes sense, but Hikuleo is a weird opponent to have that with, and nothing was touching Kaito/Tsuji regardless. It was said at Dominion, but Tsuji has something special. Also, I’ll make a potentially unpopular statement here. While this is obviously a first-time G1 match for both, with years of battles to come, I thought Narita/Umino was a miss. The main blame I’ll put on Narita, because for someone who is a Shibata clone with ultimate grappling skills, he could not lock in a hold correctly until the Cloverleaf spot. Every transition technique was off, from the leg roll kneebar to the spinning toe hold into figure four. If that is your gimmick, then you better know how to apply them with precision and force. Even his corner high-kicks were more like leg lariats. I’m sure he’ll improve with time, but when the company puts you on this pedestal, and Uemura is waiting to come back and smoke everyone, you need to be better at this stage. The Bucks are almost exclusively tag wrestlers. The only time they usually do singles matches is when the other is injured or otherwise unable to wrestle. Like Nick Jackson's first singles match in AEW was the first one he had done in several years. They barely do many straight tags anymore either! Like them vs Claudio/Yuta at SOME point in this feud would have made sense. Or Mox/Claudio. Any combination here.

Miro saved this title once he can do it again. It is completely broken right now, let him fix it.

Probably an 8 again. I thought the FTR/Bang Bang Gang match really went too long but I understood the purpose. Genuinely happy to see Willow win because I don't like Ruby that much compared to Willow as a talent and I loved Ricky/Punk.
Battle of the Belts on the other hand...

Is Taya a heel or face? Or is whatever the job requires? She's just in Kane territory.

TNT title's main eventing. If Luchasaurus squashes Spears in like 5 seconds only for Miro to come out and challenge him instead/win the belt, that'd be cool. Mostly because an actual full lengthed Luchasaurus/Spears match sounds f***ing terrible.

Wait this isn't the main event? This is the only good match on this show, what is the plan
