I made my mom drive me to a couple record stores looking for Jeff Jarrett’s “Ain’t I Great?” Album.
He was right, it was sold out everywhere!

At least we can’t complain about 50/50 booking anymore, now we have 67/33!

Hopefully far, far away.
Seriously, his character has been spinning wheels for years now and i’m sick & tired of him always bitching about not getting a chance and being held back.

I’m still in disbelief that they’re running those tired ass main events. It doesn’t get more extreme then a mixed tag match!

Speaking of Yoko, were Luger and Ahmed the only people to slam him (in his WWF run at least)? My memory could be wrong, but I think Mabel bodyslammed him as well.

Cage matches are pretty tough to make work unless you think both guys really want to destroy each other. Not to mention, (me if i’m wrong) wasn’t the whole point of the cage so the FACES couldn’t interfere?

The merch team must spend like 6 minutes a day "designing" these and the rest of the time laughing at people who buy them. Especially after what they charge for s&h.

They ran 2 shows the day I was born. I do love the fact that the very day they ran a show in their hometown of Stamford, which is where I was born.
WWF @ Hartford, CT - Civic Center - September 30, 1984
WWF @ Chicago, IL - UIC Pavilion - September 30, 1984 Mad Dog Vachon defeated the Spoiler via count-out Ivan Putski defeated Bob Orton Jr. (sub. for Jesse Ventura) WWF Tag Team Champions Adrian Adonis & Dick Murdoch defeated the Wild Samoans Big John Studd defeated SD Jones George Steele defeated WWF World Champion Hulk Hogan via count-out at 9:42 after Mr. Fuji threw salt into the champion's eyes The Iron Sheik defeated B. Brian Blair Kamala defeated Salvatore Bellomo Sgt. Slaughter defeated Jerry Valiant The Fabulous Freebirds defeated the Moondogs via count-out

Absolutely love this show.
The fallout to this show changed so much as Warrior got fired and Sid injured. Honestly it was probably for the better because Savage & Roberts had a hell of a feud at the end of the year.

That's because WWE prefers to treat the crowd like it doesn't even exist, constantly ignoring their reactions and focusing entirely on the hard cam, which is probably part of why attendance has been dire for years. I went to a poorly attended Smackdown taping and all night long, wrestlers would go to the sides of the ring that had no fans in the seats to do their entrance poses, simply because that’s their scripted entrance and it has to stay consistent on TV. God forbid they call an audible and have them pose where there are actually bodies so the fans can pop or boo accordingly. That might require them to do some extra work. You’re buying a ticket to watch a TV production live, and to make the arena look full on camera. No thanks.

This. It’s the reason why I stopped attending WWE events, and overall a major reason for many of their issues right now.

I’ve been watching since 1992 and the last 6 months is the first time in history that I just tuned out of watching and get my fill from podcasts. I’ve started doing complete runs of the 80’s and early 90’s and I discovered that I still love this stuff to death, just not what it’s become.

If anything, Stephanie McMahon has fully adapted the corporate world. She’s a walking talking buzzword, even off camera.

So many great memories as a kid. Before the Internet, magazines was how I slowly pieced together wrestling history, or discovered that there was a whole other world out there besides WWF. I subscribed to WWF through my school fundraiser drive but the Apter/misc issues were always newsstand grabs. I used to ride my bike down to the local convenience store which always stored a healthy supply of magazines. I became such a regular that the owner would always hold a copy of every wrestling mag behind the counter as they came in for me so I wouldn't have to buy one that was thumbed through already, or have it sell out on me. Ain’t nothing like the smell of a fresh Apter mag lol.
I also never objected to going grocery shopping with my mom. I would dart straight to the magazine aisle and spend the entire visit there.

I remember the first Blu-Ray player I purchased in 2008 only came with composite cables.

And you just know the next time they are booked on TV it’ll be to lose a non-title match to set up a title match.
